Somewhere In The Ether…

Ey ey good folks again

I’m in another of my nosey moods….

So: Do you make a point of always eating at a dinner/dining or some other form of table or else do you eat from the sofa whilst watching TV?

Alternately, perhaps you always eat on the go (whilst standing up) or else don’t you eat at all…in which case you are probably dead and reading this from the afterlife……

Anyhoo, please reveal all here my fine people

Carlisle usually

I don't even own a dining table.

I sit down to eat at a restaurant. Otherwise I just perch wherever to do it.

North West

We vary between table and couch. Depends on the day and time. When we're eating as a family, it's almost always at the table, save the odd time.

Sometimes we eat lunch on the grass outside, in the summer, so that involves a picnic blanket rather than a table.

The Continental

Sit as a family around the table.

Tea is done and dusted before 6pm so that there’s time to do some fun shit with Mini Wick.

We have 2 tables to eat at. The "new" dining table and our beat up old table that's in the conservatory.

I've recently given my children both the bedrooms and I've moved into the lounge so I now eat in bed whilst choosing to ignore that there is a coffee table I could eat off but then my view of the TV would be at an annoying angle

Next Door

When the kids were at home, we always ate at the table. Most night now it's I eat while sitting on sofa.

If the kids are eating at home, then we eat at the dining room table

Tables can be very lonely when you eat alone so I sit on the couch.

We sit at the table as a family with no phones or tablets. Same when we're at a restaurant, no phones, we do that old fashioned thing called talking to each other

I sit at a kitchen table usually.

Sometimes I'll go on this site on a tablet and I'll choose the "read aloud" function on it when on the forum. That way I can eat whilst listening to the text and not have to look at the screen.

Listening to the posts on the politics forum or one of tom from essex's threads being read to you in a robot voice is as bizarre as it sounds

Always at a table. Either in the dining room or the kitchen. Never with a TV on. Devices are also not out during meals. My one pet hate in life is eating a meal with someone who has a mobile, tablet, etc in their hand or out and in use. A meal is a time to talk with those I’m sharing the meal with, imo. If I’m eating alone, I won’t use a device.

On my own - use a tray in front of the telly. Unless it’s very messy food. Then I sit at the table. Open plan living at its best!

If dining with others then usually at the table with telly off.
