Little old wine drinker me…

Please let somebody else recognise that song

Who in the forums let their wine breathe?

I keep getting told that I should, but that means I need to plan on drinking, 3 days before! Haha

Joking aside, does anyone let the wind breathe and does it make a difference? And does it have to be an expensive wine?

Or will it work with some plonk?

Only really deep red wine needs to breathe OP and then only for an hour or two.

You’re safe from waiting 3 days

If I’m drinking wine I’m probably already pissed. The taste of it is irrelevant at that point.

Aerating wine will make a difference. For this you’ll needs several hours.

Use a decanter. It can make a massive improvement in just 15-20 minutes. Cheap wines included.

An hour or two? By the time I’ve waited I’ve now had 14 double rum shots.

yea think about it - open wine - try a glass - followed by the bottle - keeps decanter clean

North West / Birmingham

Original by Dean Martin. In the mid 80s the Farm did a version of it before they became a more dance oriented band. Yep I recognise it

If I drink it, and I’m breathing, then surely the wine is too? Life hack right there.

You don't need to.

With most reds long as your glass is wide enough and you leave it a short while after pouring that'll do fine.

Most won't be drinking anything stupidly expensive. I've probably decanted two bottles in the last decade and that was just because they were heavily sedimented and one split the cork when I opened it, so I ran it through a coffee filter.

There's a lot of unnecessary snobbery around wine.

So I can technically take the top of the bottle drink it straight from that

Yep. 50/50. I had it in Spain and I’ve never looked back. I suppose it’s like white wine and lemonade spritzer. It just kind of works.

Breathe. Yeah fuck that. I buy wine, I drink wine. No in-between. Only twats do that. It all tastes the same after half a bottle anyway.

That’s what I thought. And then I also thought, whilst having a 12 inch Cuban cigar, how can you taste anything?

I’d rather try something and find I don’t like it than not try it in the first place.
