For you OP, replace some farm equipment that is on its last legs that you are always repairing. Hire some help to look after your farm while you take a extended holiday, invest some, possibly add some to your pension pot.....

At your age op I would have invested it.

At my age now I'd put it in a high interest acct with no penalties for withdrawing money and take a darn good holiday every year for the next ten years.

Very few high interest accounts anywhere that allow you to withdraw money without penalty.

There are actually a few companies about to publish Q1 results that could be worth a punt. Even if the share price shifts just $.20 with all this AI nonsense going on there’s lots of winners and losers And the losers are typically the dumb people like boards that should have retired. And the U.K.’s government the course, Currently wasting £3.5 million on pretend AI

We keep a 3 month emergency fund in one, but wouldn’t put anymore in.

If it returns zero, we’re OK with that, if it returns the average advertised prize fund of 4.4% we’d be happy. Anything more and we’d be amazed!

I guess it pulls on the physiological strings of the lottery, you gotta be in it to win it. You can loose, but only against inflation

I don't have a mortgage, or any debt... So it doesn't need to work hard and it can be realised at any moment if i did need it - uber safe way of playing the lottery i guess

I'm not interested in being a landlord and what's the point in it just sitting in the bank?

I wouldn't spend it for the sake of spending it

I’m a big supporter of the premium bond ever since I was old enough to appreciate my parents getting all the guests to give a premium bond as a christening present for me.

I’ve added to them every month since and find it an exciting way to save money.
