The library is lovely for a wander. The museum is so good but after 2 hrs my brain had melted - you need a lot of time I think!

Lots of nice food places. If it's dry, sitting outside down canal street is always a nice atmosphere

Food and drinks at Albert's Schloss.

A short tram journey to Salford Quays for a pleasant walk around there as its then a lovely day. While you're there, either bob into The Imperial War Museum or The Lowry.

Maybe a nice walk around Castlefield Viaduct Garden then having a walk around Castleford itself and stopping off for drinks at one of the many bars around there.

So far I've been to the John Ryland Library, had lunch in The Ivy Spinning fields, visited the science museum and shortly going to.look at the Roman remains next to The White Lion where I'm having a refreshment

... might be siesta o'clock after this after my 20 hour day yesterday

As people have mentioned, salford quays is an interesting / worthwhile visit..as is the chinatown area for food.

Depending on how long you're there for, you could also venture over to the Trafford centre..
