The Last of the Mohicans is an absolute masterpiece and visually just a beautiful film. The score however by Trevor Jones, particularly the songs Promentory and The Kiss really are the cherries on top of such a wonderful film. I've watched that film dozens of times and everytime I hear those pieces of music, I get goosebumps.

What are other great scores and songs to films that you people love and find really evocative that just top off a film perfectly?

Have to agree OP. That's a great film and Promentory is a beautiful piece of music.

I would have to add a couple...

* Maurice Jarre - Witness and Dead Poet's Society

* Thomas Newman - American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Finding Nemo, Shawshank, Revolutionary Road.

Howard Shore - LOTR. My real goosebumpy moment is the track The White Tree.

I do like The Man With No Name flims, but the Japanese originals are better.

Danny Elfmans work on Batman. So much that the main theme has been attached to the character in several adaptations.

Ennio Morricone throughout The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, especially E****y of Gold.

The Mission haunting soundtrack, another brilliant one from the master Ennio Morricone (already mentioned for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly).

Ennio Morricone was a master. Big fan of pretty anything much that's Sergi Leone and Ennio Morricone.

My Dad took me to see TLOTM at the cinema and I've loved that film ever since.

Other great soundtracks;

Joe Strummer's 'Walker'.

Marvin Gaye's 'Trouble Man'.

Vangelis' 'Blade Runner'.

John Barry's 'The Black Hole'.
