Gov study says most brits prefer to text now rather than call.

I find texting is useful but I still prefer to call people.

What do you think ?

It’s hard to convey emotion or tone in written words, but at least with texts it’s all there, no way anyone can say “but you said” etc etc

Voice notes/calls

Texts.

I don't mind any method of communication but I'd much rather hear someone's voice so it's easier to understand what they're really saying. Not get lost in the nuance of text.

its a very age related thing - finding a lot of my work with young people they dont pick up the phone, the communication is by text - i would rather have a conversation if there is a lot of information to get across rather than hundreds of text messages

Easy to text you can write anything things you probably never say to someone.

Texting to a point.

If it's going to be more than a 3 message conversation, ring me. I hate long back and forth text message conversations

Prefer messaging than calls generally unless I know someone well. Often they take too long. Messaging allows for brevity.

Voice notes I never listen to, I don't get those.

I still go by the rule , that if I wouldn’t say it to someone’s face , then I wouldn’t send it written

True you can tell if its a guy or female but accents can sometimes be difficult to understand.

About 3 feet away from the fence

Unless it's urgent and/or a family member, I would much rather receive a text instead.

A phonecall implies you require my immediate attention.

Someone who repeatedly calls you to say something they could have said in a message, is likely to find themselves being forwarded to voicemail before too long.

I prefer texting than calling. Unless it’s from immediate family members.

At least with texting I can choose when to reply and if I want to reply, there’s no pressure on me.

I hate talking on the phone and prefer texting.

The only people apart from call centre staff that I have voice calls with are my dad, our daughter, my brother in the far east and my uncles. Everyone else gets a text or face to face

Quick call, preferably under 30 seconds. Far less faffing around than sat jabbing at a screen

If its important and needs an answer straight away then call me. I may not see a text or whattsapp message immediately.

If its the begining of a blossoming relationship, then, messages i think. I like to look back at them and remember the anticipation and passion

I much prefer voicenotes or calls.

I like both but it depends who I’m talking to. Text is good because you can have a conversation that goes on and it’s all there even if I can answer for a few hours..but text can be difficult to get the true meaning to show and can be easily misunderstood because tone of voice is missing.

Calls with my mates when I’m driving (legally hands free of course) are great because we can chat pure shit or have a deep conversation for hours..

Don't like calls.

Not too keen on txting either.

.

I much prefer an email, because you can absorb an email. Go away and think about it. Formulate a reply.
