Loving some of these suggestions - lot of thought into some of the prog rock album artwork - probably an industry in itself. The Yes album covers a whole new world (Topographic already mentioned)

Plasmatics - woah, Wendy O William's and the tape - a fab lady if ever there was one in rock !

To add, some that stick out to me

Magnum - Chase The Dragon

Heart - Little Queen (I was in love straight away - M here ! )

Caravan- In The Land of Grey and Pink

Scorpions were a bit close to the mark on a couple of their covers- I'll let anyone search if you wish

Could go through so many

Not artwork as such, but definitely a piece of art... The original release of "The Return of The Durutti Column" had a cover made out of sandpaper, so that it would destroy the cover of any other album that it was stacked against.
