One of the laptops appears to have lost MS toolbar . file / favourites / help etc., etc.,

Any techie peeps know how to get to get it back?

Is this in Internet Explorer?

Press Alt then select View, Toolbars and make sure Menu Bar is selected

Open lid

Turn on power

Turn off power

Turn power back on

Works for me everytime lol

Could have done with u last night, cat sat on laptop and changed the orientation of my screen by 90 degrees, but after a few mins I worked it out for myself and got it back the right way round ............. bloody cat lol

Mine did that yesterday 15 minutes before a lesson, nothing to do with my pussy it just randomly did it. Quick, panicked, phone call to my step dad and Ta Da! I was worried that I'd have to teach my lesson with my head the wrong way round though!

ok any 1 got any ideas for this 1. my laptop is pritty new not 12 old yet but every time I turn it on the flashy lights com on an thats it. I then have to hold down the on off butten till it shuts down again then turn it back on an away it gos. 1st thing I thought was batry must be flat but no its fully charged. any ideas any 1

How do you switch it off when you are done with it?

if you just close it or leave it to go into sleep mode that first time you boot it up it could be trying to wake up from sleep and failing - pressing and holding it will shut it all down then the next time it will load ok

when you are finished using the laptop try shutting it down properly (Click start then shutdown) and try booting it up again and see if the same thing happens

If its less than 12 months old take it back. It is still under warrenty so they should fix or replace it.

If its less than 12 months old take it back. It is still under warrenty so they should fix or replace it.

yes I no only problem being I bought it from currys or is it comet who's just gone bust spoke to advent who make it but can't find the blasted receipt doh

Also if you registered it with Advent when you got it you don't need the reciept. They will have the Serial Number logged and will know exactly when it was sold.

Another option is go into the control panel and select power option and it will list various commands which will make the computer shut down or go to sleep!
