I have a mate that owns a hairdressing salon, and you wouldnt get change out of £50 no matter ( I think a run over with a No 1 guard is £30 ish )

nice salon, head massage, cappucino, very popular about 2 weeks wait for an appointment if you dont have a regular booking

but yes, seems expensive to me too

It's tricky to begin with, but the more practice the better (this also stands true of many other things lol).

Now only takes me 10 minute maximum (also stands true lmao) with no guard on the clippers.

Why have I (Jed)always paid less for a cut n blow dry than my partner yet my partners have always had a lot less hair than me ?

Female - short hair - cut n blow dry

= expensive

Male - long hair - cut n blow dry

= much cheaper

Yet same salon same stylist unisex hairdresser ?

My hubby swears Nicky Clark clippers are the best he has had - and he had been thru loads

Hubby used to pay £10 and thought that was too dear for running the clippers over his head, so bought a set of clippers.

I havent had to pay for a haircut for him for over 8 years.

Total cost for all his clipper sets less than £50 - best set being the Nicky Clark at £20 total haircuts done 450ish lol yup clippers are value for money for me

Now me thats a whole different story I pay a fortune for my hair cos clippers wont do it

I've been clipping my own hair for years now, must be 10 easy, had the clippers bought me, when they broke I got some cheap ones, then had some more of the same original clippers bought me again, so it's cost me about £5 for around about 10 years (I'm thinking more, maybe 12) of hair cuts.

My clippers are also Nicky Clarke.

I mean, 5 mins, on 4 on the sides and back, tidy up around the edges, trim on the top, neck trim.

2-4 girls busy most of the time.

£60 hr that's good...

Up north I pay £5 but down south at my regular hairdresser's I pay £13 .. the difference? My reg hairdresser knows what I want and always gives me a good cut, the one up north cuts my hair dry and that irritates the hell out of me.

i've been very lucky (hair cut wise)as i usally trade the cost off against any service i might be able to render the hairdresser, so most of the time my trims are free other than my time for doing what ever needs to be done for the service, so jobs a goodun and all parties are happy

A world of my own

haven't had a cut for 12 months as I'm growing my hair and my daughter trained as a hairdresser so shes does my colour but the last time I went to the hairdressers it cost me £55. My friend who lives in Surrey goes to Tony and Guy but usualy waits till she up near Bolton as it cost her £90 here for a cut and blow compared to £150 down south!

I use Gillette Fusion every morning and my head is smooth as babies arse. Mind you, got a face like an arse too, but thats another story, lol.

I was entertaining a lady recently at a party and she commented that she wished she could get her fanny as smooth as I can get my head.

My friend part owns a hairdressers. If i went to the salon and had done to my what i have done it would be £85 cut and colour. But cause shes one of my best mates she does it at home and charges me for the the dye. My mum pays £120 for cut and colour where she goes

Men are so tight with personal care. You don’t get a lot all round for a £5 and the hairdressers have to make a living. I pay anything from £25-£70 depending on what they do but if your there a couple of hours its not that expensive.

Recently i have been working at a college so the trainees cut it for nothing but normally arouns a fiver just to run a No2 blade over it

Just a good tip ladies if you go to your local hairdressing college they will do whatever ya want with your hair and its dirt cheap too as they always looking for folks to practice on

Let's face it.. it's hair... it grows so a cut won't last forever. With this in mind (whilst I don't mind paying for quality... because quality lasts when it is something meant to last) anything over £30-£40 for just a hair cut is a rip off and they may as well shave the word "MUG" in the back of your head. You're not paying for a better cut, you're paying for their premises and furnishings and their up their own arse "I'm a hair DESIGNER" bollox.

I get my hair cut every four weeks and I pay £15... and because she doesn't try and rip me off I give her a generous tip.

May be I did not look far enough, however, 30+ GBP appears to be the going rate for good cutters in the area

Sometimes it is not just about the quality of the cut, the late opening hours, convenience like only 10min drive from work etc., all pay a part in the decision making process on choosing a hairdresser.

I am on my 3rd permanent hairdressers since 1989, and less than 3 try outs in between. I hate changing hairdressers, so as soon as I find a good one, I stick with him/her like glue!

A combover is natural....its all home grown...just because its all on one side of your head....then stylishly circled round and round on top...of course its a sskill to manage a combover...i thought women would be impressed....lol...
