How well do you get on with yours?

Those of you who don’t have any, do you wish you did? Or are you quite happy being an only child?

I have 3, I talk to two of them but only really close to one of them. We hang out, have similar interests and make time for each other. I'm happy with the two I talk to, would happily trade in the one I don't

I have a younger brother. We fought like cat and dog as kids. I have lots of close friends but I’d say he’s the closest. He’s the only one I could tell literally anything to. I trust him more than anyone in the world. And I adore him.

It’s a weird one. I get on with mine brilliantly but we rarely see each other these days. I’ll probably regret that. Life and distance always seem to get in the way, but when we do see each other it’s like we’re kids again still sharing a bedroom and having a unique and special understanding of each other

I have a similar relationship with my sister. We have quite a big age gap, so I wasn’t all that interested in having a relationship with her when we were younger. We talk everyday and see each other a few times a week now. I’d be lost without her

There's no animosity there, we're just not in each others lives. Even as kids we were strangers who happened to live in the same place!

I do have some cousins I grew up with who I'm still very close to, but I envy the "can tell them anything" relationships because I've only ever found that with friends, not family.

I have both an older brother and sister, they both have learning difficulties and both live at home with my parents.

My brother has a fiancé and spends most of his time with her, with friends and my sister spends most of her time either at work (I'm extremely proud of her, she started working over 20 years ago for a supermarket putting stuff back and now is on the tills, massive achievement for her!) or at home with my parents, we used to go out alot together, roadtrips to see Westlife all over the country and stuff but over the years she doesn't want to do any of that anymore, she absolutely adores Doughnut, we went to a goat farm last year and adopted one for her birthday, she was over the moon, we will try and get her out and about a bit more over the summer I think, thanks for this post, it's really made me think I must make more of an effort with her, so thank you x

I have a lot of siblings. Eldest of a very large family.

My sister who is closest in age to me? I wouldn't say we get on particularly well - we're both very different. She went down the doctor route (and likes to remind me of that in every conversation). Very much interested in material possessions, enhanced boobs, weaves. All of that.

I'm very close to the middle siblings. My brother is brilliant and we share the same sense of humour. Cougars love him and he never tires of trying to shock me. He knows so little. My youngest sister (I have two) reminds me so much of myself and I'm proud of her.

Even though I might not always see eye to eye with them, I've always been there. Always protected and helped them. They exhaust me and a house filled with us all is draining (we're all quite... us!) but I love them dearly and I'm incredibly lucky to have the siblings do.

The reason behind that did being my younger brother and me close .. can’t say little brother as he is 6’2” and built like a brick outhouse

We argue about football , he is blue .. I am not but that’s about it x

I only have one, my brother and honestly I'm so lucky to have him. We can always turn to eachother whenever we need to.

My daughter idolises him, affectionately calls him uncle big guns or guns for short

- he's a 6ft 3 burly mechanic but hes a gentle giant

Growing up, moving out and starting your own lives can get in the way of that bond you once had. It’s really nice that you can still pick up from where you left off when you do see each other, though

I’m glad to hear there’s no animosity. Not having a great relationship with family members can be really stressful sometimes.

I last saw or spoke with mine over fifty years ago. Best thing I ever did. I miss my cousins though but you can't have one without the other.

There’s almost 10 years between us and a similar age gap between our kids. Our eldest has very little interest in her sister most of the time, but it’s understandable. I’m hoping that changes as they get older as well.

I've one brother and our relationship is polite, shall we say. Things happened when we were kids and have never been the same since, for me at least.

It's my biggest fear for my two kids that they aren't friends when they are older. Nobody else will come close to knowing what it's like to be you. Siblings share not only parents, but homes, holidays, quite often schools and all other childhood experiences. The things that make us who we are, only they can truly have any idea what that was like. I do mourn the breakdown of my brother and mine's relationship, but it can't and won't change beyond what it currently is unfortunately.

I have one brother. He's just shy of 3yrs younger and he's quite juvenile in many respects. However, he's fundamentally a decent guy. He is terrible with money and I have bailed him out over and over but can't do it anymore. That kind of issue has clouded our relationship at times unfortunately. He does help with Dad somewhat but I could do with a hell of a lot more. He has his eternal rose tinted specs on and it's quite frustrating at times. But he's a good guy.

Black sheep of the family ( well thats what i was told ) left when i was 18 three siblings two older, one younger i stood 6ft away from my oldest sisters at both my parents funerals and she didnt recognise me but thats to be expected after 45yrs.

I have and older brother and two older sisters. I used to be so close with my brother but recently, he's just been more and more distant and doesn't really give me the time of day. My oldest sister is pretty much out of all of our lives and my other sister I absolutely love and still talk to.

It's disappointing we aren't all as close-knit as we used to be but I suppose similar to friends outgrowing each other, the same just applies here.

I have one sister who is a nightmare. To the point myself and my parents think it's a 50% chance she will pass before them. I'm genuinely surprised she has made it this far. I message her probably twice a year and can barely stand to be in the same room as her for more than an hour.

At our grandfather's funeral last year she got wankered and started making dick jokes. In front of our grandma. And that is one of the tamest things I could mention.

My mum has expressed surprise that my sister and I emerged from the same vagina.
