Do you want to live forever?

Well I'm probably sure you don't!... But realistically, in an ideal world. What would be your optimal age to die? Average life expectancy has massively increased. But sadly the bodies ability to degenerate hasn't slowed down...

What do you feel would be a reasonable age for your demise?

I’m thinking that I’ll be off when I’m 80, but realistically will probably take stock then and take it from there.

Hmmm, possibly as long as there was the option to change that if I had lived long enough and was ready to move on. I would be curious to see how a longer life and passage of time would change the way I think and feel about the world around me, how I perceive it. Plus eventually you’d acquire enough assets and money you’d be loaded, you could live and explore the world as you wanted for as long as you wanted. Enjoy the world and life in ways you never imagined. On the other it could be just one giant pain in the butt and decide to opt out lol. Not suffering the cruelty of old age and everything failing would definitely be a plus x

In my book.

We should all retire at 50/55 and then be put to rest at 65/70.

No care / nursing homes and a far better lifestyle.

Then you can at least go out with dignity.

Mr.

Interesting concept- the world’s resources would run out much quicker !

I think I would like to end it when if that day ever comes where one’s bottom gets wiped by someone else - then it’s time to go !

A plug in electric chair ( 3phase) or break glass for the lethal injection

If you can remember where it is

As someone who has passed the 60s mark, life doesn’t have to be like that. It takes a huge effort but I’m probably fitter now that I have been at any point in my life. Being diagnosed with diabetes helped focus my attention.

I'd hate immortality personally it sounds good in theory but I would in all liklihood, experience several wars, see all my family and freinds age and die, gain new freinds for the cycle to repeat itself and have a constant feeling of not belonging.

Normal lifespan please.

Both my parents died at the age of 60, I had set myself a target of 70 which I managed to pass with no problems whatsoever.

I have now made it to 84 and am awaiting 2 replacement knee joints, Have a heart condition and according to my daughter I am showing early signs of dementure. On that basis I think I must be living in lifes departure lounge.

As Billy Connolly says, the extra 5 or 10 years you get from clean living are not the ones you enjoy in you 20’s or 30’s etc, they’re in your 90’s when you can’t get out the chair and can’t stop peeing yourself. So no I don’t.

Ahhhhhhh.

I'm already a burden on my family

I've already lost my mobility

I already rely on mobility aids

I've already lost my full independence.

By the metrics of most people on this thread, I should already be dead.

I'll do you all a favour, eh?

I'm 38. I'll die when I die but it won't have any correlation with needing assistance or losing independence or needing mobility aids because all that started when I was 31. I'll go when I go. I'm from a very long lived family so it'll probably be 85-90 unfortunately.

He was living independently until he was 100.

I watched him cry so many tears over the years as he lost everyone he loved.

He said age was a curse towards the end.

I don't want to live to that age never mind forever

I could live forever, at least I hope I would want to. But if everyone you love is dead, only a new generation that doesn't understand your generation might be difficult. If we all end up in a robot body that can live for 500 years, I would certainly try it. Can always pull the plug if you don't like it.
