Somewhere In The Ether…

Ow do good folks

Whilst out and about, I was observing a guide dog last week and was taken aback at how amazingly well trained it was.

Then I thought of my pooch….

With this in mind, on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the highest) how would you rate your pet/s intelligence level (within its own species of course)?

My pooch is a chocolate lab.

She’s incredibly friendly and is a bundle of fun.

She’s also really thick.

I love her anyway though

I have a little black moggy. She's a solid 2 on a day it's her turn for the brain cell. She is 100% running on orange cat software and is easily the dumbest cat I've ever known.

She's very sweet and cute though. Even if she is a rubbish mouser.

My cat is a -1. Doesn't play, has little curiosity, chooses to stay indoors between November and April. My son says "she doesn't know how to do catting".

I'll swop you for a cat that can bring in mice 20 - 30 minutes apart, all night, every night. Moles in September, baby rabbits...serious hunter, the farmer behind us thinks she is awesome, they say they have seen a visible reduction in mice.

My mostly-poodle is a good 8 or 9 I think. Although he generally uses his intelligence to be completely neurotic.

A x

Oh she brings them in alright, she just lets them go, alive, in the house! Then they get stuck in the cavity wall and are almost impossible to get rid of

We have a yellow lab. He trips over his own legs and will dive in the opposite direction of the ball.

I’d give him a 2, maybe a 3 at a push

I own a German Shepherd and I'd say a definite 10. He collects cardboard and uses it as currency, each time I give him a meal he 'pays' me in cardboard, if he wants a treat he will bring me a peice of cardboard...He's not daft because after he's had whatever he's paid me for he pinches his cardboard back for next time

Brilliant.

I just get the eyes from my dog.

He does the fake going out back thing, I open door and he sits at treat cupboard.

He’s emotionally intelligent and sits on me at times.

Sounds like she's doing catting absolutely fine. She's in the warm, being fed and watered and, I'm guessing, sleeping most of the time.
