Hi all, I work from home and I bet a lot of others do as well. I’m wondering if we could find a spot to work from (professional working spaces) for certain days to get people out the house and make friends. A purely social setting but if anything forms from it then great.

I work from home but have the option to go into the office if I want though that does include 45 minute bus trip which means I generally have to leave about 2 hours before my shift

I have the option to go into the office but it is a three quarter mile walk to the bus stop then a mile and half journey so I tend to only go in if really necessary. Besides, the office is noisy my home space is quiet.

local, but not too local

I’m finding the isolation hard work just now.

But I need to be able to talk to my colleagues, not just randoms.

I’m missing the “when you’ve got a minute” / kitchen encounters.

I always thought the preferred radio programme was Desert Island Dicks.

I like the idea.

But when I'm working from home it gives me the peace to crack on and get things done without distraction.

I'm all for socialising and thinking outside the box re location independent working. I do it with my partner at times because time together is often limited. Sometimes either at mine or theirs, other times we'll do it from Costa or somewhere for lunch.

But I wouldn't want to find myself in a larger group of people. I'd get no work done at all.

It's pointless for me to go into the office, everyone else works from home, too, and the office mostly exists as storage space.

Worthing

I work from home and due to the technical nature it needs to be away from the "buzz" of a social setting unfortunately. It works for some but I prefer it that way. I do like occasional meetings and maybe a coffee shop "standup" one would be a good idea.
