Are there any particular genres of film you are particularly interested in, and if so, which and why?

I do like a rom com. They appeal to my romantic nature and the funny side of it makes it more lighthearted and so doesn’t make me feel like a loser!

No genre of films I enjoy a good action film as much as a thrilling horror film or hilarious comedy.

I would encourage people to watch more world cinema, the dreaded subtitled films, that some of my ex partners wouldn’t watch. Such a plethora of great films that just require you to look at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds.

Not really genre, I like though provoking sci-fi, comedy, mystery, biography/history, good cinematography because I like aesthetics. Good directors. Generally prefer films where the story itself isn’t that important and usually need to know the story (unless it’s a mystery) and what the film is really about before choosing to watch.

"Horror

I enjoy scaring myself."

I love a good scare, though it's harder to find these days.

Lately I've taken to listening to ghost story audio books while out on late night dog walks. That's been fun.

Reading

I've always been fascinated with the gangster genre, I think it's because I work in finance. But also after I read the Godfather.

The idea that perfectly normal people can go in different directions and do unspeakable things to others. I was just thinking about an old movie from the 90s long forgotten by most, was a great gangster movie. It's called trespass. A different kind of gangster movie. I like movies that are different from the usual Hollywood shootem up. Martin Scorsese is probably the best at this genre.

Mr Ballen is another of my favs, if you haven't listened to Mr Nightmare give him a try, he has a lovely soothing voice!

My favourite romcom has to be Notting hill, I don't know why but seen it so many times.

"I'm also just a girl standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her."

Apparently when they made the film they had no idea that line would be so memorable.

I like being scared in the comfort of my own home. I think that would give me a heart attack

Hahaha, no that's too much, don't be doing that.

A good way to add a little fear to a good horror film in the comfort of the house is to watch a scary film in the bath, that extra feeling of vulnerability.

I like a good western, but it's been a while since they produced a good one. Unforgiven maybe was the last?

For ne it's horror all the way, horror films really did save my life at one point. I was in a dark place and I found the horror genre and all the big long campy 80's franchises gave me a reason to look forward to the next day when I was younger so il always love the genre for what it's give me. Abit soppy but I live film in general but horror has a massive place in my heart.

Any comedies are stupid or stoner ones are my favourite. Rush Hour, In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths, JoJo Rabbit, The Grand Budapest Hotel etc. it's hard to figure dn films like that because although it's a comedy, there are overarching themes to them
