Cambridge is lovely city but boring in my opinion, as a Londoner. I have not been Oxford but assume it would feel the same as Cambridge for me

I like both, but think Cambridge most (but I also know it better so that's probably swaying my opinion).

"What’s the museum at Oxford? That was quite impressive."

Been to the Natural history and Pitt Rivers Museum, with the kids and been to the Ashmolean too they were all good.

The natural history museum in Cambridge had a puffer fish on display upside down. You'd think with all the boffins there they would have got that right

I live in Oxford but wish I lived nearer the sea and the mountains so Cambridge wouldn't do it either.

Ashmolean was very impressive, I’d probably like a wander there myself another time

The natural history with dinosaurs was good too, very old school style building but good for that

Yeah, Cambridge's lack of history does let it down rather.

Not really explored Cambridge. Do like Oxford and Wolf lived there for a few years.

I’ve yet to get to the Pitt Rivers museum so that’s next on the list.

Gone and completely forgotten.

I've been to both, and although I preferred Cambridge, I'd choose Oxford, as I have former in-laws in Cambridge, and no desire to bump into them.

I prefer York to both of them, though.

Both are equally impressive, but my preference would probably be Cambridge because it's prettier than Oxford, whilst Oxford is more lively.

No but, I’ll give it a try next time.

Maybe they will give me a discount or failing that - kick me out

Oxford all the way. It's been the closest city since moved here in 2004. I love the city, and the university gives it a very cosmopolitan vibe. It has fantastic museums (the Ashmolean is my favourite). And of course, my daughter is studying there.

So... boo to Cambridge!

Went to Cambridge many years ago, as a child. My cousin studied there, and have been to a couple of gigs there. Not sure whether I've been to Oxford or not.

So I'll go for Cambridge...

I think Pitt Rivers museum in Oxford was the creepy place I visited with shrunken heads and other paraphernalia collected by British colonists to do with the 'natives'. The sort of place you would also find in a pickling jar with a native's foreskin in it!! I come from Cambridge so am biased about choosing my home town, nothing to do with university but the opportunity to swim in the river at a clothing optional club. I think Cambridge is hosting again this summer the WNBR event and as usual the fabulous Strawberry Fair.

Grew up near Oxford. Lived in Cambridge for a while. Both pleasant but Bristol is better - I went to uni there. But we never even get to the final of the boat race.
