Name something you regret not starting sooner.

Perhaps it’s a new hobby or interest? Perhaps a change of diet, a different job? Or even a different home location?

So name something you regret not starting sooner. Something that’s really positively improving your life now.

I’ll go first! I wish I had downsized my belongings and changed to living a more simple, minimalist lifestyle many years ago. Now with fewer material possessions, a more frugal lifestyle I’m so much happier & content then when I had a corporate “career” with all the stress, pressure and too many material possessions, not withstanding debts.

How about you?

Unfortunately in my case, it would be to have sex. I lost my virginity a lot later than my peers

I am so glad I turned my back on the corporate career, as you put it, all those years ago.

Prioritising the things that really matter to me: family and friends has given me a meaningful life. Meaningful is what has brought me both joy and tears in abundance.

It took me a long time to have the same consideration for myself though and that's still a work in progress. I'm not sure that I can say I wish I'd started sooner, regret is just a lesson I haven't learnt yet.

So I'll go with Spanish I wish I'd learnt that earlier.

Agree with what's been mentioned with trying to use your skills & forge your own path on a self employed basis.

(It's not something that's emphasized or encouraged in general to young people I think)

Saying no in order to people pleasing and trying to fit into societal expectations instead of doing what I really wanted. Too late now and I’m ashamed to say I regret it every day.

Listening to others when I was younger telling me I’m worthless and that no one would want me as I’m fat. I’ve carried that all my life.

Photography. I never thought I would be any good at it despite loving it. I’ve been lucky enough recently to be able to take photos of an international dressage star. I started the photography a little over a year ago and wish I had started years ago

I don't think there's anything. Looking back most things came along at the right time for me.

We had our children fairly late compared to many and I was a late starter to a lot of things.

Maybe I've yet to find something I regret not starting sooner

Probably more than we realise. Those two were elevated by society for whatever reason .... there are thousands more that aren't.

Same with artists, singers, kind people, museum artefacts....

I don't regret things..... I can sometimes realise how much I enjoy a new thing but that's pleasure - I don't turn it into a punishment.

Regret ( if carried on too long ) spoils the present and you CANNOT do anything about the past no matter how hard you try

I’m Very content, and often live in the moment with little regret. I often remind myself that things could have been different but it would mean my life would have been better.

So I kind of guess I’m where I’m supposed to be in life and make the most of it.

Would starting to learn playing a musical instrument earlier have been better? Maybe not, because I wouldn’t have hung around with my football mates..which led to some awesome adventures. that type of thing.

Maybe I read too much into these questions.

I wish I’d have started to book days off work earlier, some fuckers have already booked Christmas off

I can have these conversations very easily in the morning, or really really late at night. I think being slightly sleepy is the same as the way as me being ..[insert some spiritual journey] haha.

I look back far to much, it’s taken me ages to look forward.

Eating healthy, meditation and exercising.

Not caring what others think or trying to people please …..growing up I cared far too much underneath the facade of ‘not giving a fuck’. Learning to just be me and realise that I’m not for everyone and that’s ok.

Only caring for those who genuinely show care towards me. I am not talking about charity ect to those less fortunate I am on about the so called friends who only care about what's in it for them when they have a friendship with you. Those who need you when their partner has left them but are not seen or heared from when it happens to you. The users I am getting at here.

I don't have regrets as the things that happened in the past is what's shaping me now, the only thing I would change if I could would be having a different family, because it's led me to having social problems, attachment and confidence issues, but I can't change the family I was born too.

Sorry, bit deep for a Saturday morning.
