Somewhere In The Ether…

Oi Oi good folks

A simple, non sexual question for you all today:

What ornaments do you have around your house?

Are there any interesting stories behind them?

I've become a geek and started getting ornaments to go with my books on my bookshelves - I am considering a snake dildo to go with my lady venom kills a mistress book (ornamental only, lesbian fantasy book)

La la land

Blooming loads, some are really important to me and have been inherited or things the kids have bought. Some of them are just things that make me smile.

I have some hand thrown pottery I made for Art and Design while I was at school. I have lots of bits and pieces, too many really. But some are sentimental, like the things my children have made and are priceless. Others, I need to be ruthless and get rid.

Do 'silicone sculptures' count?

I've got a couple of small tentacle or dragon ornaments I suppose. But I'm not really an ornament kind of person

Virtually none. Or physical music or video or books either. I am in a process of downsizing (fantasising about my smelly teenagers leaving home).

I have a piece of Troika pottery which was a wedding gift to my parents - it's not their style so they never liked it.

That's about it, anything else decorative is mainly artwork.

Worthing

A few in my home office/man cave. The most interesting is a mouse I carved in woodwork at my first secondary school age 11.

St Leonards

Loads of prints and art from family and friends on the walls...but ornaments are a bit "high maintenance dusting" for me.

And they look cluttery...no fank ooo.

Reading and Aberdare

Mostly various pictures, candles (none of which I've bought except a tea light holder from Cologne, birthday trip with H last year), plants abandoned here by daughters who have moved out. And Lego.

I have very few ornaments - lack of window sills and shelves! But the few I do have are all of sentimental value - such as my favourite childhood matchbox car, an ornament of a Viking that my late grandad owned and loved, my lucky crystal that sat on the desk in every one of my school exams. I do have loads of photos on my walls though - all great memories of my travels and various experiences.
