The scouse accent varies across the City, some have a very very strong accent and some with a weaker softer one.

The weak one I love, and enjoy others even as strong as John Bishop, but any stronger and I really dont like it.

They are no more witty than other regions.

It's a fallacy. Similar to all Scots being tight or all Geordies being hard and all Irish people being members of MENSA.

I have a poster that I bought about 10 yrs ago. It is titled 'Scouse humour'

"People always ask me why scousers are so humourous and I explain that it is a way of life.

It isn't inbred, rather it is cultured from birth by interaction and communication.

Our humour is the product of our upbringing.

It is a requisite of our social being.

Our humour is not a gift of God, it is the rich legacy of our forebearers".

I think there is a lot of truth in this.

All I want to add to this is; don't mistake the language of gobshites hanging around outside offies and chippies for Scouse lol any conversation in the street that starts with 'ey lad' or 'ey girl' usually ends right there. If not with 'fuckin go ed den!'

'I like a bit of a Geordie accent on a woman personally!'
