British people love Indian food right? But eating it a lot growing up meant I've rarely eaten it at a restaurant or a takeaway and therefore, don't have a go-to order!

So tell me Fabbers, what's your order and why is it the best thing to get?

Hey Joe, my personal favourite is Pakistani tandoori chicken.

Rather than a restaurant, the best place to have it at weddings. It used to be the go to dish, now seems a bit out of vogue. The best part it's actually quite healthy (as healthy as Asian food gets)

Have to disagree pickle, the whole point of a biryani is, it's meant to have meat in it! It's like ordering a steak and you some lump of vegetarian mush. Vegetarian so called biryani is not biryani IMO

Well Joe, I’m very fussy about Indian restaurants as I’ve found some don’t agree with my Rolex type inner workings but my favourite thing from our favourite place is a vegetable pathia, madras hot. Lemon chilli rice and a keema naan.

Henny is a firm hater of spice but loves the chicken korma dish at our place with eggy rice.

"I love a good chicken pathia with fried rice and peshwari naan bread.

I also love popadoms with the sides they come with.

I've never had a peshwari naan, is that the one with coconut in it that's basically sweet?

Yes that’s it. It’s delicious. I also love a cheesy garlic naan "

I might need to give it a go but cheese on a naan is too far!

"Whatever the weirdest chefs special is.

Back in Hull there was someplace that did a fantastic abomination with coffee and orange flavours. The kind of heat I like a peshawari naan to balance out a bit.

My favourite anything is always in flux. So just whatever appeals in the moment

That's a good way to be though! Always good to keep an open mind even I've never heard of coffee or orange flavours being involved!"

No, they were definitely a bit of a chaotic palette in that one.

I suppose the base recipe I work from in my own kitchen witchery way was once a rogan josh before I got carried away. And on days I don't feel adventurous at an Indian I probably do go for a rogan josh, or a dhansak, or a phaal. Though the latter only if I've eaten from there before and know they actually care about the flavours and not just the heat.

Usually have a peshwari naan with a hot one, or a garlic one with a mild one. Rice will depend on what the weirdest option is and what sounds like it'll compliment the main best

Most Indian restaurants and take aways are tandoori, which is Pakistani. I love the stuff. But once, when I was taking one of my sons to Nottingham to see a wrestling show, I was recommended an original South Indian restaurant. The food there was slightly different, the menu was also different. The food there was also amazing. Next I want to try Sri Lankan food. There is a place in Hove that I heard about.

Nisha who owns the Mowgli chain is a judge on great British menu. Random useless info aside.

Chicken chat puri to start, or aloo tiki chaat but only the good street food places do that one (there used to be a place called Rita’s in southall that did the best chicken naan breads and aloo tikki, yum. Then it got taken over and went badly downhill - and it wasn’t posh to start with!)

Then either chana masala with chicken tikka starter as my main or lamb bhuna or chicken passanda

With pilau rice

And a paratha or puri bread to take home for breakfast the next day

The best Indian food I’ve ever tasted was in Tanzania. It was truly what you read Indian food should be but I have never experienced here, every mouthful had layers of flavour harmoniously building and then giving way to new hints of spice. Amazing stuff!

I've been getting educated Gujarati style recently. I think my favourite dish is is probably Tadka Dal with Paratha. I'm apparently pretty close to mastering it. It would almost pass her mother's test... almost.

I'm also quite partial to Saag Aloo and recently discovered the joy of Dosas.

So I don't know exactly I'm a bit of a kid in a candy shop at the moment.

I don’t have a goto order on the uk mostly because also ate and cooked loads growing up & the names are just all made up.

If it’s good/authentic restaurant I like mutton with red lentils, peshwari naan or a butter paratha , also Daal makhani if it’s Punjabi style. For a starter I go for a chicken tikka chaat puree.tons of calories but love it

Ooh PM the place if you don't mind, I'm in Manchester often these days.
