Do many people get recognised on FAB? By friends or family.

Surely must be some stories to tell on this topic

I recognised a woman who lives just up the road. We did chat for a while but she decided to unilaterally end contact.

I guess if you do see people on FAB, it’s only because they are here for the same thing. So nothing to feel weird about??

Somewhere

Had someone message me to say they'd seen me on a bus? Not sure how they'd recognise me from random body part pics, but hey ho - blocked. Also whilst didnt realise I had my location on, had someone trying to guess which street I lived in from nearby. So that was nice!

End of the day, yes I'm seeking fun. Doubtful I'll want it to be with a neighbour, also doubtful I want some daft twat approaching me in my local Tesco to say they've seen me on Fab

Must have left a good impression on him from your pics

And yes you’re right, that’s a little creepy trying to guess your location.

Stay safe.

"My workmate spotted me on here pretty easily."

I had a workmate who was very vocal about attending our local club, which was fine. But for me I don't discuss my sex life (or lack of ), in the office. Made me super wary that if I'd bump into him at the club he'd bang on about it to all and sundry to be honest. And I'm a super quiet/private person in my daily life. Fortunately he moved on jobs wise so no longer a worry

Discretion has always been the lowest bar for this site. It should be the first thought everyone has

Yep, it's odd isn't it? I mean I dabble in dating sites too. But he was very much 'so, I met this cpl at the weekend, she's riding my face, as he's sucking my dick'

I'm more, so I met someone at the weekend, we had a few drinks... Yes, I stayed over

I've had 2 blokes think they know me or have worked with me , but it wasn't me either time.

I've seen a couple of people on here on nights out, as they had face pics.

I didn't say anything to them & nobody to my knowledge has recognised me away from here.

I used to get messages all the time saying that they knew me. I got some to admit that it was a ploy to get me to reply.

I think it's pretty gross as a tactic.

It is what it is unfortunately. You can be as open or private as you want but someone somewhere will be weird and try and sleuth. We live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and everyone's business. The people we've spotted on here we know from somewhere or through someone. Just say nothing, keep quiet, move on x

When I had my location on, I'd get messages like "you're always in the same place, let's meet at (nearest coffee chain to my house at Example Road in Sample Town)".

Yes, I work from home. Also, stop trying to track me. That's gross. Block.

I've been recognised and then followed around the local shopping centre which is all fine and well trying to strike up a fab related convo if I was alone but I was with 3 generations of my family.

Was just weird

Had someone tell me I knew their sister, I definitely didn't and found it a bit weird.

Others locally I've recognised I've just blocked. Saves any hassle in my opinion, they weren't people I would interact with that way in real life.

And also there are some categories of people who should probably try to avoid intersecting on here. Your kid's teacher, your religious minister, your family, your boss, etc...

I don't think I've ever been recognised, and as far as I know, I've only ever seen one fabber in the wild. I noticed a distinctive piece of foot ink, but being sensible, shy, and unwilling to get dogs abuse/a slap, I didn't approach. There's also the "out of my league" thing, so I also didn't make contact through Fab.

It’s always a little creepy when someone messages to say they have seen/know where you are but that’s always a risk when using face pics on your profile and there are ways to make it less creepy.

If you are going to message someone like this, may I recommend making yourself as equally identifiable at the same time so it removes the “haha, I know who you are” vibe

I recognised a colleague once. She always came across as a prude in the office. Passing comments on one of the younger members of the team, who was enjoying discovering her sexuality and what she enjoyed.

Then one day reading the verifications of someone who had messaged me I had a light bulb moment.

Never mentioned it as having looked at the pics first I had seen more than I wanted
