"Trust is a big word. I do t mean this in anyway against anyone I have met or talk to. But my trust has been broken, and the only way I’d give that to do one again would be if a friendship was built that was more deeper than the surface stuff from fab. I have spoken to friends here who I’ve shared personal stuff, but to trust fully is a whole different ball Game. And I thought I had established that once/twice. Trust comes with allsorts combined. Confidence/loyalty/consistency/faith, I don’t have that here in fab at the moment, not to say it doesn’t exist and I might come across it again. " I like that reply! I was trying to think how to word something similar. On here the usual circles are more often associated with gossip rather than true reliable, dependable friendships which have leverage and consequence if broken because they are incorporated in our offline daily lives

"What does a circle of trust involve? They only people who've seen our faces are those we've met. Nobody knows all that much about us. " That is a remarkably good question, and I don't think I have a succinct answer. So I'll evade it for now .

Unfortunately, having a great fab profile doesn't make you a decent human and those difficult times were an illusion and my trust was abused and my personal info shared with others. I have 2 very close friends that I trust fully who are no longer on the site but we met through here. My best and closest friend is still here and I trust her with all of me and she does likewise.

"Without naming anyone, because that may end in tears a bit, how many Forum/FABbers would you say are in your circle of trust. I'm going with 3 in my "tight circle", and around another dozen who are close enough to kiss that tight circle quite frequently (ooohh err...kiss my tight circle baby!). Bonus - I'm disappearing for a couple of hours now, so I can't sabotage ANYTHING you say (until I'm back...obvs )." I trust everyone with the comments I make on here. I don't trust some of those with questionable values not to talk behind backs. I can honestly say that the very many people who confide in me have never had those words repeated to anyone by me. Would I trust anyone here with my real feelings, gossip, emotions , finances, personal details, favourite type of lettuce ? NO nada nothing no one. There are a handful - a small handful - that come across mature and trustworthy enough but I come here for other things. I sincerely hope that is an answer

"Do imaginary friends count ? to be sure " As a matter of fact I've just had a discussion on "trust" with my own imaginary friends. So yes - they do very much count. Especially the green humanoid ones with 3 tits and swishy tails who love a bit of Nicky anal in their lives .

Funny to think there are people out there, where you know everything about their lives and thoughts and desires and such, but you know longer really talk. " It is definitely an odd thing. Does it have a tinge of wistful sadness, but also a good enough and strong enough memory which is "good, tasty" enough in their absence? It sounds like it does because they're still "dear to you". Mine are mostly (overwhelmingly, probably) in that bracket - which is fortunate and helpful. I'm talking overall life, not just FAB. Conversely, broken trusts where the person is no longer approachable can be life-damaging for decades (and other broken trusts overlay more pain on that still-open wound). And, just to square that circle, untrustworthy people who won't disappear are probably even worse. (I've "disappeared" them all myself, apart from one. But she's old and mad so I can fake it rather than "disappear" her and add to her woes).

On hand it you said about trusting others, then bought in your levels of integrity... With some reflection, what made me curious was my identification with what you said about people trusting you, and never repeating that, as I listen to many people's deepest and darkest, what they tell me will go to my grave with me. So the curiosity wasn't a bad thing, it was one bourne out of resonance is all.... Mr

" I can honestly say that the very many people who confide in me have never had those words repeated to anyone by me. I do find it intreasting as to why needed to add this little section, to what was otherwise a really valuable contribution.... Mr What interested you about it ? The reasoning behind, why you added about your own integrity! Not disclosing what others have disclosed to you. The thread was about being trustworthy. I see no reason to not mention that i'm as tight as a ducks arse and tend to dislike gossip and tedium though I will listen and never repeat. What is your reasoning behind it making you feel uncomfortable and indicating that it made my contribution less valuable ? I didn't mention feeling uncomfortable, that is a big assumption to make. Now your doing my thinking and feeling for me, which you can not do. The thread is about trusting others, not if we're trustworthy, there is a big difference between the two in my view. You make me smile. As you can't or won't give me your reasoning. I won't press for it. I find what you said, to have polarities to it, that's what made me curious about it. Mr " Thank you. That is crystal. BUT...... you said it made my contribution less valuable. You haven't explained WHY it does.. and let's face it , it does to you , from your perspective and way of thinking. From my perspective it enhances a dialogue on trust The End ..... of everything

"I don't trust anyone as such but on here i have a few that i can talk to, not trust because trust is sacred Fred - I trust you this way. I know that when you would eventually let me down, I'd still have a massive smile on my face and be thankful for everything that went before. I'd probably even enjoy the letdown itself on a couple of levels ." Trust me I'm a friend for life to some even the ones that use that chemical cleaner that takes the glue off
