Reports that a review of police morale in the area known as West Mercia, named after the earlier Anglo-Saxon region and pretty much a tim capsule of that period, has astonishing low morale.

95% of policemen have low morale

52% feel they are not treated fairly

96% feel they are not respected by the government

85% feel stressed

78% do not feel valued by the force

70% feel workload too much

56% say they cannot take a meal break

What is going on here guys

It's all over the news

Their workload is far too much! I've been waiting since November for someone to contact me about my shotgun licence

are we not surprised? if they do something right no one hears about it , if they do something wrong everyone hears about it - they blamed for not being there or they are blamed for being there - would have to be very thick skinned to be a police officer in any force

I totally understand that. They spend a lot of time catching the baddies only for the courts to hand out over lenient sentences. Must be so demoralising!

My dad was a career copper through the late 60's, 70's and early 80's and retired at a high rank. He always says that if the police were like they are now when he joined, he would not have even have considered joining.

14 years of a governing party that doesn't deliver much of anything that's not rotten to the core
