What is your definition of a friend? Who do you class as a friend? I remember being quite bluntly told once that 'we're not friends, you're my work colleague

A friend is someone that won't bail you out of a police cell but will be sitting right next to you...I value the friends I have...I have one friend at work and I can talk to her about anything...I live with my best friend and I have friends I have met from the scene and I love them to bits...

I tend not to get too close to anyone that I work with directly.

Both my best friends were ex-work colleagues that I have known since 1992.

I believe we only became friends when it was obvious that I was never going to be their bosses.

i was about to post that lol.

im quite lucky though as i have quite a few friends that ive been through a hell of a lot with. theyve seen me at my lowest and ive seen them at theirs but we dig out blind for each other when it hits the fan

Somebody I can rely on on matter what, they will stand with me and give support when needed but also won't be a yes man telling me how it is. Someone I respect and who respects me too.

friends..well they come in many forms i think!

some peeps say they loads of friends, but in reality they havent..they just have many aquaintances.

Some people have chat friends online yet never met and may never do.

friends are on all different levels and i think we see friends differently as someone else would

I am seeing my best friends later this year, can't wait!

My last visit was 2 years ago. Although we kept in touch with e-mails etc., it would be great to see them face to face and have a good chin wag to catch up.

Over the years, we've been shit on by those we thought were our friends.

Took a long-time to establish our “true” friends, friends are not valued by numbers, it's who can be relied on, nowaday's, by our choice, the few “true” friends we have, at least we know who we can rely on in our hour of need.

Someone who you dont have to see all the time but know they are there for you if needed.

They will be honest with you even tho it may hurt. They allow you to cry on their shoulder. Not lie to you and you do all that the same for them in an instant.

They will stick to their word and not just tell you what you want to hear. They wont use you but support you.

I am lucky to have a few frienships like that. Xx

if we're talking about Fab type stuff the only person I can discuss that with is Mr N, most, well all of my friends would spontaneously combust if I started talking about stuff that goes on fab wise.

A good friend is somebody who is "with you" even when you dont agree on a matter. A good friend does not abandon you when things are bad so loyalty is a big part of it - as are honesty and maybe generally shared values?

My hour of need has been recently and is still ongoing. I have to say that all the people i have leaned on have stood and taken the strain - i don't have many friends but i am blessed in the ones i have.

I have also had a lot of support along the way on here which has been great.

It took me a while to learn to distinguish between the keepers and the acquaintances who were fine to hang out with. But i have been right about the keepers and i am loved and love back.

Your ladies are very lucky to have you!!

I have 3 best friends who are true and very dear. We have stuck together through thick and thin. We've seen each other through the shit and all made it through, just because we have each other. They never judge or condem me, when many others have. They obviously annoy me sometimes, but think I'm no doubt the most annoying of all.

I love them and they love me. So lucky to have them and I would never forget that.

Glad they're not edible or I'd probably eat them lol.

The above is true, and his friendship isn't measured by how much money he lent me, but by the selfless way he just did it without explanation.

On here it means something entirely different. In a world of online personas where a person's true friendship is impossible to measure unless you've met them regularly and have become firm friends I use the 'Friends' function to identify people who I feel I have connected with in some way, or I/we just fancy the fuck out of each other and the friendship swap is a way of saying, "one day I'm going to have some serious sex with you!"
