Blimey MB, next you'll be saying that people have different opinions on length vs girth or cut vs uncut. It's best to ignore this sort of grenade thread

Boiled potatoes with butter and parsley.

Or with gravy. Or cold, sliced, drizzled with salad cream and made into a sandwich with thickly buttered bread.

Delicious!

Ewww….probably the most boring tasteless thing to eat other than pounded yam.

I would boil them for 5 mins then drain , add salt, ground pepper and flour, lid on & shake like crazy to rough them up then bake for an hour in the oven in a little oil. Then serve with hot lemon and mayo mix

The new season of Jersey potatoes is a most welcome thing - boiled and part mashed with salted butter dripping with flavour .

It’s for me as import as the new Beaujolais season ( in passing 21st Nov )

Boiled new potatoes are the food of the gods.

But yeah, just boiling a standard spud when there's a million ways to prepare it is pretty unimaginative.

Plymouth and Newcastle (sometimes)

As long as it's cooked properly, there's not a single bad way of serving potatoes as long as the accompanying food complements it.

I don’t have any skins in this game, but that sounds like a loaded question. I’m going to get a roasting for this but a lot of the replies are half-baked, some are cheesy and the rest have just been mashed into the keyboard, so I’m just going to get my jacket then I’m off down The Dauphinoise pub, it’s been a long day and I fancy a pint and some fries.
