It's nice to see that people have thought about this. It is not a membership fee, it's a way to pay for the expensive ( bandwidth costs like a b***h ) without forcing everyone to pay for things that they dont want. If you dont that you need the extra features, you can keep using the site exactly the same way

All of the "extras" on the list sure look like optional upgrades to us, we cant say that there is anything there that we feel is necessary to enjoy the site, and for anyone that would like to try them, it's not expensive and you dont have to keep them if you find that you dont really use them.

We'd be happy paying a contribution.. after all the old saying is theres nothing for nothing!! But... and its a big but...

It kinda sticks in the throat that it starting at 5 a month.. thats 60 a year eh.. Thats comparing to other major sites... wich means all those who joined and have contributed etc will have been a kind of bait!!

Maybe the site owner should recognise the fact certain people indirectly contribute to the site being what it is!! Thus tempting new members! Paying memebers lol... Worked elswhere with little fuss if we remember rightly!

Is this the start of things to come we wonder......

Aplogies, I did not see this post first, or would not have started mine.

Well in my humble opinion, I can see some people going for it and maybe in time, they may be offered more for the £5 a month it costs, pehaps free home pizza delivery or something.

However, on a serious note, I also think it could (I say could!) be the start of a different grade of memebership, the £5 could increase as more benefits are added, I may very well be wrong, but just call me a tad cynical here and I'm not actually saying it would be a bad thing either.

You can have more pics on your profile,larger clearer pics....hmmm not sure about that! :0

You can change your user name as well which im sure would make a few people happy

I don't think £5 a month is too bad if you want the extras....

You can change the settings in your privacy page so you dont show on anyones looked at list so its not that handy, or it wont be when everyone is more aware of that option.

Sounds like a plan, but there are a lot of single males for example that struggle to arrange a meet, even at only £10 annually I believe it will put some people off.

The way they have chose is a good one in my opinion as we are not worse off as we stand, as we have had nothing taken away from us, but can be better off if we so choose.

Will discuss with Colleen later and see her opinion, we may give the silver a go to start with.

We reckon the sites fine and suits us as it is.We suppose you could have a basic free membership for ppl who don't use the chat rooms and a nominal fee for those that do.Don't know if that would work or not.

Quite sad to hear this. I don't use chat so there's not much there for me. Just hope it doesn't develope like other sites so that to view pics or send messages you have to be paid up. And the site gets filled with fake profiles in order to entice people. I'm hoping the owner of this site is a little less unscrupulous.

Some great feedback here just some points.

1. You get more with gold but it lasts for less time (30 days) as opposed to silver (60). Your choice. It's because we are fixed with a £5 tariff on text that this is how we play it. On gold you get higher upload allowance and more dockable cams as well as the gold badge (bling!).

2. You get more than docking cams. More uploads, view who's looked at profile, view gallery of latest images, no more ads, larger images to view etc.

3. We'll be improving the forum with smilies and clearer layout anyway, over the summer. These will be available to everyone.

All seems very positive stuff. I like that stuff is being added for paid membership. But will free membership eventually get some stuff removed to encourage people to upgrade? Also, are there any users here who'd be less inclined to meet someone who didn't have a shiny gold medal?

I'd have gladly paid £5/month for the OLD forum. I don't use chat so that's a mute point but the forums are a shallow shadow of their former selves - and a lot of users have left the forums too, it shows in the turn around of posts. A busy site has a busy forum but some of the threads here sit there for hours before a new comment is made.

£5? 5p more like.

The old forums may have looked better and its true that some of the old posters don't come on here anymore...but at the moment this is what we have and I still like them because I like the site as a whole

Theres loads of people posting that didnt before and I also remember when at times the forum was full of trouble makers creating fake profiles to make personal attacks on people and generally being really abusive....it was chaos at times

At least the owners have put in place measures to prevent the tosspots from doing that anymore

I think the winks and friend requests options that are switched off are perhaps Email notifications of those.

So those that chose not to upgrade will still be able to - they said on earlier post that they wont be taking anything away.

So we still get the basics - and those that choose to pay will get the hidden extras.

We think it's a great idea, plenty added, but nothing taken away, so those who decline to pay a fee, lose nothing and continue as normal, whilst those who chose to pay, get a little extra.

It's the best of both worlds really - everyone is given the choice and nobody is losing out

Perfect, well done chaps, it's more than most sites would do - the option would be to pay or have a very basic limited (mainly useless) membership ..

Us lol when we came to the site over a year ago by accident i put in our real second name as a user name not really that bad cause everyone we know knows what we do

However we wanted to change it and couldnt until this morning lol

There are lots of reasons someone may want to change theirs as for the benifits of the site support payments (we joined silver)

We like them and think they are a good idea and of cause you are not tied in to paying forever lol

I'm kind of liking it, and not hidden our profile, I did actually click onto someones profile 5 times on the trot for a giggle, a gold member forum poster

I'm in two minds about what to do when our profile has been viewed, I kinda think 'well they were not interested so we will not message them' but then they may have read something in our profile that made them think we would not hold interest in them, so not contacting us, hmmmm, confused, ah, now there's a username.... confused, lol,
