Chelmsford

Reports from Spain, most famous for England's greatest export, GBAT, or Batty as Tom affectionatly calls him, that food has risen by 38% in the last three years. Now, nobody likes to pay more but hang on here. People were blaming England for relocating fom Europe for their price rises. What is Spains excuse,? Are they blaming the English for leaving? What's going on here guys? It's all over the news

Paradise, Herts

Prices for everything have gone up in Spain. All the bills have gone up same as here. Food and eating out is still way way cheaper than here though.

Do they charge bikinis per metre of fabric. If so you’ll be ok.

Central

It's probably best to compare it with other EU countries, for a better understanding of it, as well as with the UK.

I'd hazard a guess a suggest it is to do with increases in natural gas prices, driven by EU sanctions on Russian gas.

Spain has no indigenous gas supply. It has traditionally uses coal with some nuclear. As a result of EU policy to phase out coal, Spain is reliant upon imported energy.

In addition, Natural Gas is the source for nitrogen fertilisers. As such fertiliser prices have also rocketed.

Add to that a currency (euro) over which the Spanish government has no control, and you have the conditions for economic hardship

Ingerland!? I don’t even have a UK passport.

Well you know it Tom, all the English are British, but not all the British are English.
