Do you prefer to do last minute meets or get to know someone first then arranged something?

As I'm quite new to this and just trying stuff out. I like to get to know people and make sure I'm safe and meeting up with the right person.

I learned that the hard way with my first meet so I'm very cautious about who I talk to now.

Get to know them, speak on the phone, plan a meet

Lesson learned after one pretty last min meet where I just felt a bit awkward and a bit uncomfortable. The person was lovely to be fair, we just didn't click

It's a personal thing for me: I've never understood the concept of last minute meets with a stranger.

My meets have been the outcome of protracted chatting/messaging over weeks/months (mostly) and, occasionally, a year (or two).

We do both because we look for different things. When it's hubby's turn to choose he puts up an ad and finds someone on the day. I'm more into BDSM and need to choose people I have similar kinks with. So it depends what you're looking for.

The same applies to naive women who think ruffling their plumage at men will have them running to them on a whim. I've had my fair share of "meet me now, I'm only down the road in Soho" type of messages.

ALWAYS prefer to get to know somebody first. Last minute usually means it’s a bit iffy. Not idea what they are like, no conceptions of personality… done it before and it very rarely goes well. I tend to just stick to socials now if it’s last minute.

There is, I believe, a fine balance between not knowing someone enough and knowing a little too much about them upfront.

It's finding someone who's scales tip at the same time as yours that makes all the difference.

We’ve mainly got to know people beforehand.

However we did do a meet now ad whilst away one time and we got an Italian guy which was one of C’s fantasies, to have them both chatting in Italian - worked perfectly.
