little house on the praire

Ive been thinking awhile about getting another pet, but not sure what, i was going to get a pygamy hedgehog but ive got nowhere to keep it, so an animal that has a cage is out. I was thinking of a kitten but not sure the cat would like it. The only thing i can come up with is a rabbit, but id want one of those big fat furry ones

The big fat ones are quite messy.

If I were to have a rabbit, it will be a dwarf.

Not that I am going to have one, as the cat and the dog would not like it!

Rabbits are great outside but ive had house rabbits and they chew EVERYTHING, TV wires, carpet, handbags / shoes. home wreckers.... but they are soooo cute

can you still get tortoises i know you can get the baby ones that live in a tank. Might be a bit boring cause i couldnt really cuddle a tortoise lol

i would get a small dog or a cat.

we had a guinee pig and it cost more to keep than the dog, not as much fun either, all he did was eat and sleep.

takes ages cleaning them out they make such a mess.

our sausage dog used to bark at cats, but if it was my mums cat or a cat staying at our house, she was ok with it.

my step daughter has got a rare breed tortoise it cost £100.

They are terrapins not tortoise. You can still get tortoises but very expensive saw one for £400.

Guinea pigs are nice too I've 2 Boba and Marley, I did see one of those huge rabbits in pets at home the other week it was bigger than my jack Russell chi cross, very cute x

My mum got them to teach me to not put my hands in the fish tank!!

Pets are great though I've 4 dogs and 2 guinea pigs a fish and 2 gerbils, all rescue animals. I also foster dogs too

I've always found rabbits to be more hassle than a dog or cat if you go away as someone has to come in to look after it whereas a dog can be dropped off with willing family or friends - or a kennel and cats can be left for a day or two if you have a litter tray and plenty of dry cat food.

My sister used to have pet rats and she says they're as friendly as cats or dogs - love cuddles - and are extremely intelligent and can be trained to fetch etc. Their tanks aren't as bulky as a rabbits and if you get two, they keep each other company. It all depends if you can get over the 'eeuuww rats' thing (they're nothing like sewer rats).

I had a duck, it was called ed and lived in the back yard. Callum had like a basket thing on the back of his tricycle and would peddle it around in it. It died of a cold, it was lovely

No, ive had terripins, these are tiny tortoises and you keep them in a heated tank under a light. You dont put water in with them

they are also a life time commitment, we have one in my family that's been handed down 3 generations, my Gran had it, then when she died my Auntie had it and when she died my sister had it, its still going strong, will outlive the lot of us lol

Ducks are amazing!! I loved ours back on the farm - i wasn't as keen on the 'guard' geese

Plus it would probably teach the dog to keep his nose out of things since the garden would belong to the duck then

We used to have goats , actually bought the first two from Dusty Springfield's neighbour .

They were Toggenberg crosses , one died so we bought a Pygmy goat for company as goats are gregarious and she was an instant hit.

She thought she was a dog and went everywhere with the kids and would rush into the house, they lived in the back garden, when she heard the Simpsons theme tune to watch it and head back out when it was finished .

Haha - we had a shetland like that (mums pride and joy showing/breeding mare) and she would let herself in the conservatory (which was 25ft long and just over 10 wide-not a standard one!) chase the dogs out and watch the tele when she had enough of the foals!

She was always brought up spoilt though!
