So let's talk apps, what are out there? I have kik and snap chat. And just literally got telegram but you have to use your number for that( don't really want to be giving my number out)

What app do people use that they don't have to give your number out to people?

You don't have to give your number out on Telegram. In Settings Privacy and Security you can set it so no on can see your number

I only use WhatsApp as I use it for work chat groups.

I used to use KiK but the ads got right on my tits.

Kik, Snap & Telegram are the apps I use. No number needed to be shown in those.

WhatsApp for those I get to really know and can trust.

Telegram all the way. The phone number is for your security and authentication, and not a prerequisite to use the app itself or share with others (unless you want to).

WhatsApp: for those I trust.

Kik: I usually 'unfriend' or ostracise anyone in my social circle if they're using this awful app.

If a guy is gonna put his penis in me, he can probably just have my number.

Exactly.

I still have not trusted someone to not give my number out.

Telegram is the one we both use the most. Mainy for group chats of club nights.

Whatsapp is for family and vanilla/close swinger friends.

Snapchat uses your number for the account only and to find your contacts, it's never made public

We don't even get to the stage of chatting "off here" unless it's concrete set in stone we're going to meet. Then it's WhatsApp, more for "just in case".

I can see the reasons why people aren't keen on giving their number out, but then also you're on a swinging site and open for having sex with "strangers" per se. Seems slightly confusing to me people are up for that but giving out their number is an absolute no go.

This place is the only thing I use to communicate now, I don't have any special talking apps anymore. I used to use whatsapp but I changed my number recently and won't be giving it out again.

Telegram for kink - number doesn’t need to be given out, just a profile name.

You can’t chat 3/4 way on here so we move it to Telegram.

On rare occasions we give our phone number for WhatsApp chats but hardly ever.

We will chat on here but it’s slow and so connecting or finding out if there’s any attraction takes longer.

Giving someone your phone number is also potentially opening up your other social network sites, as your phone number might link to those.

So before long you’ll appear on their recommended friends list on certain sites.

Thats why we keep kink and family/friends seperate.

Depends, kik is crap and full of ads and bots, telegram is decent and as many have said you can set so your number is private. Ha e also used Session but that does seem to attract a certain kink.

2nd phone for me.

People upgrade regularly so they will often have one, or you can buy pretty cheaply.

Add a sim only sim and for a couple of quid a month I have a number that isn't linked to my vanilla social media, family, friends or work. I can then put whatever apps I want on it without having to worry about the number being shared.

Simples.

You don't even have to do this, just get a second SIM on your existing phone, or get a second number from one of the virtual number providers. Then you can create a separate profile on your existing phone for apps using that number.

A second phone is easier to think about, mind. A very physical separation.

NOT IN THE UK Wherever I lay my hat

Whatsapp and Telegram for friends, family and Fabbing

Signal because family once set up a group chat on there and refused to use anything else

Snapchat for when I need to get my son's attention urgently

Kik so about three guys I never met but chatted to 5 years ago can pop up every 6 months and ask if fancy a shag and I can ignore them

We used to use Wickr, but since it’s demise we keep all communication on Fab, with the exception of people that we are social friends with IRL and are therefore welcome to have our numbers.
