How long on the phone to your Bestie

Dubai & Nottingham

I just did over two hours on the phone to my business partner , we do this 3-4 times a week.

My friend says that’s nothing, that’s just warming up when it’s two female friends chatting

Do you have long calls to friends ? I think it’s great, unrushed communication like that is so valuable

.

Yes I do. There's one delightful friend in particular who I can spend hours on the phone with talking about everything whilst I potter around and cook and clean and reply to emails.

And then we still send each other messages after because we forgot to mention *that* thing that happened.

I used to when my mum was still alive.

I don’t really talk on the phone for long periods of time with anyone anymore.

I can talk forever in person, in fact it's hard to shut me up; on the phone however, 5 to 10 mins on average.

I'm staying with my bestie atm. It took me well over an hour this morning from saying goodbye to actually getting out the door because we were yapping. Everytime one of us leaves a room it's like that

I still enjoy chatting on the phone as much as I do in person

An hour can be a short call for me. It’s a great way to catch up and keep in touch with the family and friends I don’t see in the flesh often

One of my old friends would be on the phone for 2-3 hours... It used to drive my then husband insane.

I talk to my mum now once a week for an hour

I talk to my DD most days, from 1-3 hours... I think our longest call was 4-5 hours in the early days.. No idea what we talked about

Other than that i HATE talking on the phone and will do my best to avoid it even my WhatsApp /telegram messages are super short / brief

All over

Not particularly long but like phone chat with friends and family. I hardly ever message them. Even at work prefer to talk someone for a minute or two rather than sending long emails, easier to sort out something very speedily and in any case I enjoy talking to most of them, ask how they are etc. AI not quite taken over yet

I try to avoid phone calls whenever possible.

Friends I usually text via WhatsApp or speak to in person on the rare occasions I see them

Almost the only time I ever make calls is when I'm handsfree in the car and I need to tell someone to avoid a snarl up or I'm going to be late.

Have no idea what I'd spend more than a few minutes talking about on a phone call!

Almost all my calls are under 30 seconds. I can't stand sitting yapping on a phone. I've got brothers and sisters I don't talk to for years because it means sitting on the phone and I just can't.

Abrupt short and to the point calls. Nothing else.

My wifes my bestie. When we first met we used to chat for 7/8 hours on the phone whenever we were apart. She once phoned me in her sleep

We can go to bed even now and chat for 5 hours even though we live and work together 24/7

Phone calls for sex ..no thanks

Phone calls for fraud no thank you do one

Not into long winded ping pong texts they get misunderstood.

Prefer face to face then can see how genuine they are. Talk on phones is cheap

There's an old friend I have, that I used to be in a band with, back when we were teenagers. He doesn't do music anymore.. I do though...and I'll play him stuff I've recorded over the phone, before I upload it to bandcamp etc.

I talk for hours with him.

My folks have both passed, but I have an aunty in America that I speak to for a long time every month or 2. She treats me like her son. X

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

I have a good friend who lives 250 miles away. We may go a week or so with just the occasional text message, sometimes we have a quick 10-min catch-up, and other times we talk for an hour or more.

I had a call at the weekend from a friend who was upset by the way her partner (who doesn't live with her) had been treating her. She was upset, so we spoke for 90 minutes. In the end, I got in the car, drove to hers in Leeds, went for a meal, before driving home again.

I'm a chatter box, so it can be a couple of hours. But it depends on who and when. I have a few key friends that we can talk for ages, however, life gets in the way so it's not often :/
