Hi folks

We were wondering if any of you pervy lot were into rare and/or classic cars at all. We are into American and British classics and have owned a few of each between us. We’re currently getting ours booked in for the up and coming show season.

We have a Camaro. What’s your ride ? (Pun intended )

So much more interesting than the modern stuff.

I enjoy cars as a whole, classic and modern.

My daily is a 700hp Supra, and I've a Caterham 7 track car.

Me and my dad have a classic car collection, Morgan Plus 8, Triumph Stag and a Tr4.

100% agree. Even modern prestige and ‘future classics’ can’t hold a candle to an older car.

No character.

I'd love another classic (I had an MG Roadster in my youth), but I only have one parking space and no garage

I've looked into renting a garage but there just isn't any local availability

So, until I next move home, I shall sit and perve other peoples beauties

If I won the lottery, sod getting a super car, I’d be getting an MG Midget, mk ii. (Though I’d probably also get the Maserati too, rude not to)

I had a TF a couple of years ago, not quite classic status yet but really really regret selling it.

Not making me feel any better about selling mine stupid thing was it was near mint condition and a good runner and I let it go for far too little. Needs must at the time but I’ve kicked myself many a time since. Hang onto yours! And I’m going to try and stop being jealous

I don’t think either of my vehicles qualify as classic, one is 1985 so could at a stretch be a modern classic and the other will be a classic in the future, I hope, as I plan on keeping it.

Have had several MGf and TF, last one being a TF160. One of the few cars I regret selling, but had to due to health reasons at the time They’re making good money for decent ones nowadays. Replaced it with a Merc SLK230. Another possible classic in the making. Fun, but not nearly as much fun as the TF.

Indeed, very much a grown up reluctant decision.

However it was super fun, we will never forget the memory of the first drive and a sharp turn on a mountain road - the captains side front hubcap going clang, bouncing alongside and then sailing off over a 200 foot vertical drop

"Mk2 astra gte

Renault 21 turbo "

I too have one of these oddballs but a 4WD version

Plus a few older French and English vintage / classic cars in the family.

A 3.8 MKII Jag and a mid-30s Riley Kestrel. The earlier French car is probably a bit too well known to mention.

My daily is a 700hp Supra, and I've a Caterham 7 track car.

Me and my dad have a classic car collection, Morgan Plus 8, Triumph Stag and a Tr4."

Supra?! Nice!

As my username might suggest, which incidentally was not thought up by me, but waa what I was referred to as by a couple who had a number of reliable guys they called on to join the parties etc, I do enjoy classic cars. I've had more than I care ti name over the years, but as always if there was a quick buck to be made, up the road they want, no pun intended, and no sentiments either. Maybe we should do a fab classic car event, it could be a lot of fun.

I had a RT GT Turbo raider back in the day only 1000 made. It was an expensive nightmare to run and I took it off road when the head gasketblew. I had countless offers and sold it for 1k as I needed the money

My friend recently sent me a link where it is for sale for 35k completely refurbished and apparently only 30 left on the road. Ah well!

Fun yes, but can you imagine the whining noises (not coming from the car). “It’s too far, can’t you make it nearer us ?” “Can you move the dates as we’re having an orgy that particular weekend ?”

Nice thought though.

When I think of the cars I’ve owned over the years and sold them for peanuts then seeing them go for tens of thousands nowadays… had a couple of mark 11 esc0rts, Volkswagen Beetle but my favourite classic was my 3.0 capri Ghia automatic. Wolfrace wheels. Damn I loved that car. The only one I still wish I owned.

snap deliver for a motorfactors see loads of realy nice old cars in for service etc some coming out of hibernation at this time of year . Also most garages have an old mk3/4 esc0rt at the back under "restoration" that never seem to progress .beautifull pale blue Rolls corniche just finished a resto at one of my drops

"Don't have 1 but would love to have a TVR Tuscan S! "

I’ve had a Tuscan great car and incredibly fun to drive (reliability was an issue but nothing like the wedges) servicing was reasonable and unlike the Huracan the vast majority you can reasonably well do yourself.

Still my favourite classics are Land Rovers and Mid era Volkswagens.

Lifes departure lounge NN9 Northamptonshire East not West MidlandsMidlands

Was showing my grandson some photos of cars I have owned over my 67 years of driving and much to my surprise he has set his heart on a 1959/60 Frog Eye Sprite, A friend of mine has one and has agreed to take him out for a spin in it.

Meanwhile I will start looking for one, he is not old enough to drive yet but we have access to heated storage if I find the right car.

Bangers and cash here we come.
