I've seen a few good bands. My top two are Iron Maiden and The Killers. Iron Maiden is number one for me. To see them live was something phenomenal.

Loved when Maiden flew over the spitfire at Download some years ago.

One of my favourite live music memories was ok the hill at download, in the rain, no entirely sober, dancing around to Pendulum and The Prodigy and just having the best time.

But all time favourite live band is Muse. Ironically I actually don’t really like their music but they just put on the best live show, seen them a couple of times now.

The best band i have ever seen live was Lynyrd Skynyrd At Knebworth in 1976. A very large proportion of the crowd had never heard them before, but they had certainly heard them when the set was over. I think i can safely say that Skynyrd blew the Rolling Stones off the stage.

Been to a lot of their concerts.

The best ones were the ones that were like mini festivals. A whole day of different band.

The Taylor Hawkins tribute was the best I’d been to though just for all the bands coming together to celebrate his life.

Really difficult one to answer.

I've seen a hell of a lot of bands.

Neurosis and Pitchshifter at the Marquee around 1991 for sheer visceral experience.

Dog eat Dog and Downset at the Underworld for sheer fun.

Biohazard at the Marquee for the aftershow.

Slayer at Nottingham Rock City

Faith No More at Subterrania.

Boysetsfire anywhere I've seen them.

The Jam. I’ve been to hundreds of gigs, seen hundreds of bands, nobody even comes close to coming close.

Runners up are The Chords with their reunion gig at The Garage in Islington

Honorary mentions for Stiff Little Fingers (circa 50+ gigs) and Nine Below Zero (1981, Friars).

Most unexpected great gig was Bauhaus in ‘81. Didn’t like the music at all, phenomenal stage act.

For pure ability to perform so perfectly live then I’d say Tool.

For atmosphere I’d say Saul Williams - a crowd where only a few knew his music was completely transformed with him down in the crowd going a capella. It was amazing!

In no particular order, i can get it down to the following short list

Prodigy- the most electric atmosphere and all round full on stage performance

INXS- never seen a band so musically tight and Hutchence was easily the most perfect rock/pop front man

NIN- By far the most intense show i've ever seen

The Wonder Stuff- Consistently the best live band you could see for the last 20 years (well almost 40 if you count the full history)

Chemical Brothers- The 2018 live tour was technically mind blowing

Busted/McFly/McBusted...bit random, seen all iterations and they are really just having the most fun and a total piss about- generally hilarious to watch

Random Indian tabla player fine tuning his gear right after soundcheck at Wembley Arena- just him on the PA, utterly beautiful and mesmerising...most of the crew, stopped working just to watch and listen and gave him a round of applause when he finished
