"St Edmund is our actual patron Saint of England"

The emblem of the English ruling family since Alfred was a Dragon. So the invaders selecting a dragon killer as a Saint is understandable.

Can we please celebrate the English Saint born in Kent.

Which accounts for it have 6 limbs. Western dragons had two feet and two wings.

The red dragon has been associated with Wales longer than the white or yellow dragon has been associated with England.

When was it unofficially in use?

Does this explain why the Welsh flag isn't represented on the Union Jack? Or is it that Wales was considered part of England and so didn't need a flag (vaguely remember reading something along those lines).

Yes it has ! Why does it explain the number of limbs ? Who said western dragons or indeed any dragon had to have a certain number of wings ?

To all intents and purposes they could have whatever wings and limbs they wanted !
