There is actually a way round it without the need to contacting them

I think it invalidates any repair with Apple should your phone need it but I have heard there is a way

If it doesn't work.... On the galaxy

Settings

Call settings

All calls

Auto reject

Auto reject list

Left menu button

Create

Enter the number you want to block

Then hit enable auto reject

One thing you can do in future is not to give out your number. Not that easy if you want to use your phone for making arrangements. What you can use is Kik! It is a messenger service that uses a handle (user name) rather than the phone number. It also has a block on it for those you tire of..

On my samsung you just press and hold the number from the log, and it comes up with options, 1 being add to reject or block list (can't remember which). Stops any unwanted attention.
