Tips for pulling an all nighter?

Unfortunately not a sexy all nighter (that would be much easier).

I've got a list as long as my arm to sort and its doing my nut in!

So I'm aiming to have a productive night tonight. I'm looking for tried and tested tips for helping me stay awake, if any?

Failing that, who wants a job l? I'll pay you in tea and kindness

If you fall asleep, Freddy Krueger will come after you. That should give you good incentive to keep your eyes open

Maybe split your tasks up and work in shorter bursts, take a little break now and again to refresh yourself.

Or set a few little goals, like only allowing yourself that snack or coffee after you get a certain task done.

I would take you up on the offer to help but it's Bank Holiday weekend and my rates are extortionate

Think about all the excruciatingly embarrassing things you’ve ever done. You’re never sleeping after that.

Pace yourself. Get the worst stuff done first. Take regular breaks, even if you don't think they're necessary

Snacks and tunes.

Probably best to use cordless headphones so you don't piss the neighbours off.

Water. Lots of water.

And lock all the doors to the loo.

Nobody ever fell asleep with an excruciatingly full bladder.

I don't know what all the tasks are but caffeine does have a detrimental effect on your ability to think clearly. So if it's knowledge work I'd be wary of the various caffeine related options.

In the past I've found activity every so often, keeping hydrated (I like fruit juice for this) and showers (realistically one shower in the middle) be helpful.

The shower is actually something I heard from a doctor and was apparently common practice to help stay awake and alert on super long shifts. It supposedly works by getting the blood to flow as your body tries to regulate temperature. I presume activity has that as a component too.
