"I've dated a copper and lived with someone who went through the application process. Be prepared to have your life examined in minute detail (especially with new "stricter" checking in light of recent news events) Financial records will be checked, family background will be checked and the smallest thing which you might think is inconsequential will be grounds for failing. Remember the ideal officer is someone who can testify in court without the defence being able to find anything to discredit you. An friend whonis a defence barrister once told me that in the really big cases they are not above hiring a PI to investigate the police team involved as if you can take them down a case can crumble." Good thing I'm a good boy!

Also get ready to delete Fab as I'm sure some of the members who have been around a while will remember this as an issue coming up

The panel heard that on or before June 29 last year, Bell had uploaded photos onto a website named Fab Swingers, and the photos depicted his naked torso and genitals"

He had a photo showing his warrant card. I think that's what would have done it. You can be totally anonymous here and I really think the chances of them finding out and dismissing due to it are slim if you keep them very separate and don't exploit it.

"Look there's no doubt some members here work for the police is my point " You are correct. I’ve shagged a few coppers from here over the years. 2 of them have OF too and there are a fair few on FL which is arguably worse ( from an outing standpoint) than being on here.

" I believe those caught on OF were dismissed under very flimsy pretense of failure to disclose a second income). The person who I was living with during their application was a registered nurse and due to some complicated legal precedent they had to recind their registration upon commission as being a nurse/doctor/paramedic is seen as being in conflict to a police officers duty (make of that as you will)

But yes one of his actions was to post his warrant card on Fab which was explained further in the article is a big no-no on ANY site. The fact it was here gave the lovely lamestream media that extra "fizz" to make it sound juicier and lurid than it really was. So yes the copper got the heave-ho for being highly unprofessional but not specifically for being on here as those "oh so accurate" hacks would have us believe.

"An friend whonis a defence barrister once told me that in the really big cases they are not above hiring a PI to investigate the police team involved as if you can take them down a case can crumble." Sadly all often too true. I had a friend now retired who was in West Midlands Police and the very same happened to him. There were PI's following his kids and going through the bins and even asking the neighbours for info. And not much you can do about it, except start "investigating" the PI's back which is what he and his fellow mates on the force did. Going through their bins, parking outside their homes etc... And oh no they did NOT like that! Terrible practice really which rose to prominence in the infamous OJ Simpson trial where his defence destroyed the career and reputation of the arresting officer.

"Another Fabber I know very well on here is a University lecturer and she actually sought clarification on Fab's "compatibility" with professional careers. Her reply was such as Fab actually class as a "Dating Site". " But that's not universal acceptance so you can't say one institution will be the same as another

"I think there is quite a lot of hysteria on this post. Being a swinger is a lifestyle choice, not a crime. You're not going to be asked about your sex life in court, its completely irrelevant. And even if you were, what are they going to say when you reply "yes I'm on Fab. So?" We wouldn't really want work colleagues and family knowing the details of our sex lives, but if someone tried to shame us about it we wouldn't let them hold it against us. If you want to join the police, go for it. I bet they wouldn't care at all that you are on here if you are honest about it." Disagree. The current climate in the police and how the public view the police is that they must be squeaky clean and being on here and announcing it for all would almost definitely end up with the person being sacked.
