somewhere

Saw this last night on BBC so its on the iplayer

Incredible acts of courage under extreme conditions and to see Russians being killed by drones was something I'll never forget

19 year old soldiers discussing and killing other men and not thinking of it at all

If they live to be old men I wonder how they'll remember it then

Well worth watching

I watched this too. It’s terrible that life is so cheap. Can’t blame the young lad though they are fighting for their futures

This is the first time in History that a battlefield has been filmed

There haven't been battles like this since ww2. I've read military history all my life and always tried to imagine the battlefield. This war i have seen some genuinely horrific scenes. It is nowhere near as horrific as I imagined. It's worse

I only tuned in half way through. It's another more uncomfortable world.

Quite amazing that a war is raging, being documented and televised. I think it might be a first.

I hope Ukraine get all they need to oust those invaders from their lands.

It's not like those young people have a choice. The enemy wants to obliterate them. They are fighting for their lives.

Not really the first time a battlefield has been filmed the first one was ww1 but its probably the first that has been so well documented due to social media platforms

The actual fighting. Most of ww1 and 2 scenes where staged for films and moral .....only the Germans filmed combat footage and there's hsrdly any of the actual fighting

Yeah, there's world war footage but I think that was for documentary purposes, as people didn't have mass access to television. This doc was first person in the trenches, seeing people shot, seeing tactics played out real time, though as you say social media does keep daily updates.

.

I'll watch that sometime this week, , Its horrible to see people dying through the decision of a handful of people but throughout human history probably less then 100 people per generation dictate

the lives of the rest of the population, Its scary and needs to stop before they wipe us all out

Agree with that but the one I was thinking of was British troops assaulting across a hill from a distance believed to be the first actual combat footage

It was truly horrible, although I noticed the potentially worst scenes were blanked out thankfully. It's good to be reminded just how traumatic war is in reality. Even those dead Russians have families who will mourn them.

There is never a "winner" in a war, just one side looses less, whether that is men, material, or land.

Watching footage of actual battles should be mandatory viewing, to teach people that despite what we see in films, there is nothing glorious or heroic about killing, people do it because if they don't, they will die.

This conflict is being driven by a man out to re-live past glories, despite the fact that the world gas moved on decades past what he is trying to re-establish.

I just wish his own people could see the truth beyond what he allows them to be exposed to.

Exactly. Unfortunately propaganda and state controlled media make it difficult to get them to see what's really happening.

I've been there several times, right up close to where the fighting is going on. No matter how horrificly bad you imagine it could possibly be, its far far worse.
