Can you cut your own hair?

London

Turns out I cannot therefore the emergency hairdresser appointment is needed to be booked ASAP. I hope it’s still weather appropriate to wear a winter hat on a school run tomorrow morning.

How about you?

The COVID pandemic objectively demonstrated no, I cannot! I ended up trusting my son to cut my fringe. I did Mr KCs hair with a set of clippers but I wasn't very competent. I'm very grateful for skilled hairdressers and barbers

Have only paid for 3 haircuts in 30 years.

Once when clippers blew up mid -cut......

Once on holiday.

It's easy when it's all coming off

I do dye my own hair, and choosing the right dye, it isn't quite as flat as it otherwise would be. (It's certainly not hundreds of pounds of artistic whatever the fuck, but that was never going to be on the cards)

No. I did it during lockdown and then B had to tidy it up at the back. Definitely prefer someone who knows what they're doing!

I would never have dared but then covid said I had to ......

watched a few you tube vids on how to do bangs by elasticating hair from each side and BINGO ..... never looked back.

Now my hair is ..... short ish .....say shoulder length i'd never go back to cutting it myself.

If I didn't have a friend who's handy with the scissors, I'd probably trim my ends myself. Neither of us have attempted layers or framing pieces etc. (My face framing pieces are down to my shoulder blades )

I've cut my own hair for years. I can't fall out with myself for doing a bad job and two weeks is the difference between a bad hair cut and a good one. Plus it's only hair! It will grow back. I've had lots of different styles all because I made an arse of it the first time. Need a pair of knickers with that hair cut?

From the land of haribos.

Yes. I can and I do that too, my style is very easy to cut, it is a mid fade, so I shave the sides, then I fade from the mid to top with different levels, so it blends together and the top is number 10, it is fun

I started practicing during the first lockdown. By the time barbers opened again, I'd managed to give myself the haircut I used to pay £20 a fortnight for. Nobody's ever noticed!

Likewise been cutting mine for better part of 16 years but started at grade 4 all over and reducing ad time goes on.

No its a buzz cut and blade shave of the dome for a snookerball finish.

I do occasionally go to a barber to have the beard tidied and trimmed but thay is more as a pamper idea than needed

Can't remember the last time I went to a hairdressers, I had a friend who was a hairdresser cut it for me in January last year and it's not grown that much since (all the bleaching and dying it different colours will do that apparently, who knew )

If I do need a trim, I normally do it myself but ever since I gave myself and undercut and grown it out, I've decided to leave it alone lol x

I learned how to do it using electric clippers by watching YouTube tutorials during the COVID lockdowns. I haven't had to go back to a hairdresser since, must have saved hundreds.
