Why is it so much more common to find men interested in being women, than vice versa?

That is incorrect. There are now more female to male attending and on the waiting list for professional transition services.

There is also the issue of "passing". Once Trans Men get testosterone treatment, they go through puberty like boys do. Their voice drops, grow facial hair and it is very difficult to tell they are anything but cis men.

For trans women who've naturally gone through puberty (voice drops, facial hair, facial bone structures like chin and brow extends). The "damage" is done, so it is very difficult for trans women to "pass". So you spot them.

So your statement that there are more trans women than trans men is not correct.

Butch Dykes often say they get mistaken for men. They like that, but don't feel the need to transition formally.

Because of misogyny, it would be correct that everyone would want to be a man in a man's world. But why would you want to be a founcy effete attention seeking tranny? Well that's just transphobia, particularly towards trans women only.

There is an article in BBC Sports pages about a survey of top cis female athletes.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/68564019

The article also adds:

According to 2021 census data, 0.1% of the population of England and Wales identified as transgender women, with the same number identifying as transgender men.

"Why is it so much more common to find men interested in being women, than vice versa?"

Because it's much harder to pass as a woman after going through male puberty. It's only about passing. Not popularity.

I know several women who prefer to simply present as masculine and don't get anywhere near the amount of shit for it as the men I know who prefer to present as feminine. That would be a relevant factor too I imagine.

Of the men I know who were afab, I know that not everyone around them knows that part, and they've mostly been passing since the first top surgery and hormone cycle without issue. Of the women I know who were amab, it's generally more apparent for those who haven't completed the entire transition.

I don't think it's more common I think it's just more noticeable.

No one blinks twice at a woman transitioning to a man, but a man in a skirt people seem to lose their shit over.

It baffles me.

Do you know the sitcom "The Good Life"?

When some trans women put on a check-shirt and jeans, hoping to look like Felicity Kendall, in reality probably looks more like Richard Briers. I bet you they get a little upset when addressed as "sir" even though they may have long hair and wear a little makeup.

I'm much more like Margaux, played by Penelope Keith, groomed and clearly presenting as women. People who respect that and call me "madam" are kind so I have all the time in the world for them. People who still choose to call me "sir" have control issues, Transphobic and I avoid at all cost!

This is obviously somewhat of a frivolous answer..but women's clothes are so much nicer.

Half the training shoes I own are women's, there's so much more cool colours to choose from..in fact I'll go over to the women's sneakers section initially before the men's. Half the time they'll have the bigger sizes available too, 8.5 /9 ish.. which fit me.
