reasons for posting?

Ok here's a question - most posts on here ask a genuine question or pose an issue that sparks some kind of debate, fair enough. But how much of the average OP's motivation is simply to air that particular topic, and how much is to use it as a way to raise their profile, get noticed, maybe make a connection with someone that might lead to a little bedroom action?

see what I did there?

Very clever

What would have been better though is if you'd posted a thread titled 'RIESENS for posting' where anyone who contributes to the thread is rewarded with chewable chocolates.

A combination. Some are to get others perspectives, others are simply to join in. You can't complain of no messages or interest if you yourself never make an effort and join in ?

I post to ask a question as people respond very quickly on here ..........

I post to entertain ............

I post to answer questions ..............

I don't post on the hope that someone looks at me .............. and don't expect anything to come from someone noticing me in the forums apart from the answers I sometimes need lol

Oh and I post cos I love singing ........ oooooooops

Lately, I find I post an original thread when I encounter an 'Is it me?' moment.

It may have come from a conversation privately with someone on here, from a meet, from anywhere to be honest.

Whether I get one reply, or it ends up in 'thread closed - got to big', having a group of people who are (generally) unknown to me and each other giving a completely objective opinion, light hearted or serious, helps me get _iew what prompted the thread in the first place more clearly.

I start threads when I'm bored with the others, but they're usually too boring for others to bother responding to, so not that effective as a boredom recipe.

I'm going to start resurrecting really old threads instead..

Brighton - even Hove!

"I post as I see something that interests me. Certainly not a look at me reason xx"

Same here and to add a little amusement and bemusement to proceedings. I like people watching and am interested in people so am on here to sort of get to know people a bit too. I don't have much opportunity off here to socialise so it's quite good for that. If it leads to someone looking at my profile and thinking 'wow' then that's an added bonus not the main reason.

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I don't see the forums as a way of connecting for meets. I almost see it as a completely different site. Strange as that may seem.
