My love of music

Good evening, everyone. I wanted to make a post to share my passion for music and how I got into it. As a child, I didn’t really listen to much music, and then in my early teens, I got into it a bit more through artists like Professor Green and Jay-Z. When I was about 13 years old, I started getting interested in football and began going to a lot of Chelsea away games with my dad, who has supported them since the 70s. We've both been members of a local supporters club that would run coaches to many of the away games and would always play bands like Madness, The Jam, Bad Manners, sparking my love for listening to older music.

As I got older and started going to away games on my own, many of the people I knew were into bands like The Stone Roses, and I listened to "I Wanna Be Adored" and loved it. In 2017, I went to my first proper concert, The Stone Roses at Wembley Stadium, and had one of the best nights of my life. The atmosphere was electric, with flares going off from the first song, and the great music turned out to be their last tour before they split up again.

These days, I listen to a lot of different bands and artists like Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and newer bands like Catfish and the Bottlemen and Foals. But as my profile name suggests, I am obsessed with Oasis, specifically Noel Gallagher. His songwriting and different kinds of songs trigger various emotions, and I love the acoustic versions of his songs.

I would love to hear others' stories of getting into music and the bands you're into. If anyone would like to see my Spotify playlist, it is titled "Jamie’s Fav Songs" by JamieCFC.

Camberley occasionally doncaster

I was massively into music in my teens and my first gig was seeing the Black Crowes in Sheffield around 1992. I'm seeing them again this year.

I spent 22 years in the military in some out of the way places so never got to as many gigs as I wanted - especially being out of the country for up to 6 months a year it was tricky to plan.

I'm now half an hour outside London and last year I saw 52 bands. I have made some friends from this site and now regularly go to gigs with them. The smallest gig I went to last year had 25 people, the largest had 80,000. Some are mainstream, some niche, many are up and coming. I've even travelled abroad for gigs in the past, seeing iron maiden in Bulgaria, and Jeff Beck and Paul Rodgers in San Diego.

I have no thoughts of slowing down.
