"Men don't need Women, Men want Women. Women dont want Men, Women need Men."

I'm somewhat old school & traditional in terms of how I view the Male Female relationship dynamics.

However I've learned to adapt my views with how society has changed in since the early 2000s, but this did make me think & thought I'd see what my fellow Fabbers thought about such a statement???

As a species we both need eachother... Whether we like it or not

None of us need a man or a woman, we want and choose to have them. People who need others have generally had their partner project that onto them in order to control the relationship or narrative. Once removed out that situation and stand alone, you realise you don't need anyone if you're at peace with yourself.

There's truth in every quote but no quote applies universally. I think breaking the dynamic between men and women down into a couple of sentences is simplifying things too much.

Women are a maturing influence on men. Men are a youthful influence on women.

Neither needs the other, but each improves the other.

Probably not.

But I like the idea of finding a woman to sit MB d my life’s adventures with. Do I admit I want one? Yeh… I realised I do.

Do I need one? Hell no!

Just my opinion.

I believe that without true friends, we are in a very sad situation. I have mostly female friends. Most men,in my experience, never seem to grow up enough to be attractive. Perhaps we should stop classifying, and labelling each other? As it rarely ends well. Keep smiling. X

I don't do well alone, I never have. It's not that I'm incapable, I'm just better with someone. I'm not afraid to admit that I need someone in my life either.

Some really great answers & perspectives. I guess defining "need" & "want" is subjective to us all.

Being single for 4yrs after an 11yr relationship has changed my views on things. At that point in my life I feel that I needed & wanted my ex, however things changed and after we split I went through a low patch & done alot of self discovery, shadow work, taking accountability for my mistakes & came to the conclusion that all I need is myself, those who I care for & that care for me.

I don't know why anyone would want a woman who needed to be with man ...I want to be wanted not needed...

I don't think you can blanket speak about either gender.

Some will need, some will want, some will die alone happily.

Sounds like the ramblings of someone who had too much time on their hands and thought they were being really wise and insightful.

Generalisations about an entire gender are just codswallop

Hell no. I had it drummed into me from a very early age that I should never be dependent on a man. I took that to heart and lived my life accordingly. I really enjoy the company of men from time to time but I don't need them for anything in my life.

I suppose it depends how you view life and the point of life, if for you happiness is the family unit then obviously that initial statement is way off, if you intend to be single all your life then its a true statement

Completely agree. Generalising about an entire gender’s needs / wants is just nonsense. I thought we were past that sort of simplistic view

Neither of us subscribe to the trad sterotypes in our relationships.

We would both manage our lives fibe and be happy on our own - and did before we met.

Wants and needS?

F wants a lie in and needs a new phone.

M wants an imperial Af spanner set and needs tomput the clean washing away

Also very similar to our views (minus spanners and phones, plus other things )

On the flip side we have a frined who said he would hot be able to deal with his wife earning more than him - even though it would mean he could stop working tommorrow and play video games full time
