Hastings Boat Madness

Chelmsford

An old fishing boat called the DorothyMelibda has pretty much catapulted Hastings into public awareness by causing a storm.

The historic feature outside of Hastings Railway Station will be removed by the council as it is deemed a danger to the public. The boat has happily rested there for over a decade and helped to make Hastings famous, that and the fact that Hastings has two branches of Greg's in easy reach . Why is this national treasure being destroyed? What is going on here guys, it's all over the news

Did it have barnacles on its bottom Tom, you could be mistaking it for Mrs NiceCouple.

"Did it have barnacles on its bottom Tom, you could be mistaking it for Mrs NiceCouple. "

Look I had the barnacles removed in what was a very uncomfortable procedure. The gas and air helped but all that sanding down, lordy!

It's true I am a national treasure

Ten years! TEN YEARS! and they want to remove it?

In the US that would practically be a listed monument.

This is just cancel culture gone crazy! Health and safety madness.

Ten years, FFS!!!! It's destroying history.

Probably orchestrated by all those whining snowflakes and their woke "looking after people's safety." Don't they know Hastings (in the last ten years) has grown up around that boat. It's in the town's DNA.

Mind you, there's some other boats around there that need removing.

Bring in the (conscripted) army!

Why would you have a boat at the railway station. You wouldn’t have a train in the harbour?

It sounds like maritime madness to me, Tom, make no mistake.

Apparently it has had a stay of execution after a local man started a campaign to save and restore the boat.

It's all over the Sussex news

Tom has seen a picture of the boat and it looks lovely in the picture. Hope they keep it, after all Hastings is famous for little else apart from the fable of King Harold burning those caks

Damn that King Harold . You can't blame him though Tom he only had one eye after that unpleasantness with the Normans
