After a flash back listening to the new McDonald's advert ! We could of been anything we wanted to be !!!

When you were little what did you want to do when your grew up ?? Did you make it happen ? What did you end up doing ?

For years and years i wanted to be a pilot. Then i woke up and realised it wasnt going to happen. Then i became a town planner. Nearest i have got to being a pilot is having two radio controlled aeroplanes which i am unable to fly. Probably a blessing that i didnt become a pilot.

I wanted to be an actress or dancer, so no I never made it to that.

I've ended up doing what I said I wouldn't as a child. I love it, its so rewwarding and I'm quite good at it too, funny how it turns out sometimes

I wanted to fly with the Red Arrows when I was a child, then I wanted to be a vet and then I wanted to work with exotic wildlife abroad (sort of like an ITV's "Wild At Heart" type deal).... Now I'm training to become a plumber. XD

I come from a single parent household and my mum was out selling tupperware (gawd that makes me sound old!!!) and my brother and I snucked out to the next town to watch the film at the cinema ........ we didnt have enough money to get home and it was a very long walk, so we presented ourselves at the police station and the police took pity on us and drove us home, we got told off by them but they never ever told our mum !!!!! The policeman that drove us home talked about the film the whole journey lol!!!

I (B) wanted to be a cowboy, I harboured this ambition until I was about twelve but I realised there wasn't much need for cattle herding in walthamstow. After that I became a bit disillusioned with the whole job thing.

From the age of four, when I stood on the top of the Queens Building at Heathrow and watched my brother taking off for Toronto on a BOAC (Who? lol!) VC10, I wanted to be a pilot.

After taking a few flying lessons when I was 17, and learning to fly a glider, I finally applied to join the Royal Navy when I was 20 as a Helicopter Pilot, as that was what I wanted to do.

I spent four days at Gosport going through the Officer Selection Board, and was the only one out of six of us to be awarded a Commission.

When the papers came through for me to sign and return, my then fiance turned on the waterworks and... I gave it all up for HER.

What a feckin prat I was.

I now do something which is still, loosely, connected with flying, but.... do I regret putting a girl before a career I had wanted since I was four years old?

You bet I do. Nothing comes before achieving your dreams. Just hope I managed to get that through to my own two boys...
