What sheet sets etc do you have or want?

If you were a young adult, what do you think you would want (this is a spinoff from the pillows thread where Felix said a colleague had a Simpsons pillowcase)?

Would you consider having two sets, one for company and one because you just like it?

I’ve been seeing some excellent Teenage mutant ninja turtles sheets but they’re only for a single bed.

If they make them in king size I’m buying two sets

I have 3 duvet sets. I did have 4 but I gave one away as the embellishments aggravated me.

I have a super warm, Teddy and fleece , and a thick brushed cotton one for Autumn/Winter/Spring, and a cotton one for Summer.

I'm looking for another Summer one that is plain and simple.

I buy different coloured sheets to compliment the duvet covers.

My brother had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set and he used it until it fell apart.

I'm very boring and my sheets are all white, but I might consider a novelty set if I could get it for my king duvet.

I have a few (probably far too many).

If anyone is lucky enough to be invited into my bed, they can deal with whichever set is currently on.

I have some poly-cotton sets, a Jersey set, a fleece-y set (which was a gift)... they either match the decor of the room, or are grey.

No idea what a young adult would like though, sorry x

As a young adult I had a Laura Ashley set, with matching curtains.

I had two duvet covers and pillow so I could swap them over easily, and a skirted fitted sheet, trimmed with lace.

The first time I got to choose a duvet cover for myself, I had a tiny pink rose pattern, because I've been rocking the grandma aesthetic since I was in secondary school

A young adult would probably like a set that someone else washed and put on their bed.

I got a new bed at Christmas. I have 6 sets of white bedding. All different styles and textures. I have a selection of throws and cushions to compliment them. It's lovely when my bed is all made up.

Most of the time though the cushions and throws are in a heap on the floor and the dog is taking up most of my bed!

Not gonna lie, someone washing and making my bed sounds pretty good to me, and I'm a bit long in the tooth to be young.

Just been comparing a few different companies their cottons, blends and thread counts. It's strange a 180 thread count is the same or just as expensive as a 500-600 thread count. I don't get the poly cottons always go for 100% cotton

I've had some high thread count from some companies that feel like sandpaper, and lower that feel lovely.

I use them until they're worn through or torn - and only buy them on sale - but I only use Sheridan. 300 is fine. 500 is fucking amazing. (1000 is even better, but you'll have to take out a mortgage and they're pretty fragile)

I'm addicted to beddings! I have a King size Ottoman bed (storage space underneath and whole bed pivots up) FULL of quilt sets.

In my 20's I knew this girl (we're still friends on FB) who said "good sex and good sleep are important", so why skimp on good mattress, bedding etc. She gets regular sex and is always healthy and glowing because she sleeps well... She's so right.

When my hand-me-down from mum were wearing out, I bought from Habitat. So pretty grown up taste.

I have things like two quilts because the men I go after look like gorillas. So they need next to no covers! Me I'm a Hot House plant so need my 10.5 tog!

I have a couple of sets for sleeping alone and a couple of different types for company. Silk for the more sensual meets, good feel cotton for others.

Once I remade her bed in plain bedding just to wind her up

Sorry, I should stress that have no idea what patterns they have atm, I've just seen some Disney ones in there previously, and know they have them for most bed sizes - single thru king.

I don't want to raise your hopes too high!! Failing that, have a look at some of the catalogues, they might do them, or Matalan and that ilk...

Some of them are up there on... dodgy intellectual property grounds, but I'd also check out places like Etsy.

I’m flattered to have inspired a thread!!

Mine is all John Lewis plain white. I adore climbing into a bed freshly made up with good quality sheets, duvet and pillow cases.

The pillows and mattress are Dreams Therapur because they have a cooling gel surface and I hate being hot in bed (apart from the fact I’m so unbelievably hot in bed )

Whoever above said a quality bed and bedding is important is so right.

I totally agree.

And in the case of your former friend (or so), if he wants to do The Simpsons then rock on, but it's sort of like... there's a minimum standard for company (clean etc) and I might consider having a plain set if I anticipated having company

Oh I agree and told him as much. There’s a difference between ironically rocking a brand new, clean star wars set (which I’m now seriously considering), and having a scabby old Simpsons pillow because it’s left over from when his parents bought it ten years ago.

Totties like taste

These days you could absolutely rock Star Wars or whatever - the days of getting your head flushed for that sort of thing are long gone.

As long as it's CLEAN
