Road trip! Kind of.

I’m actually taking the train, so it’s not a road trip really. But rail trip sounds rubbish. So.

I’m travelling around this week and I’m looking for recommendations from you lovely Fab Lounge people who live in Birmingham, Derby and Manchester.

Local recommendations are always better than just asking the Internet.

Where’s the best coffee? Bonus points if it’s somewhere I can set my laptop up and work from as well.

What are the best pubs? And the most sociable for a bloke travelling on his own?

What restaurants should I check out?

And since this is Fab, anyone fancy a social while I’m there? (Not you Woody. I’m already coming to your party on Saturday. )

I know of a few good places in Birmingham to eat & drink, can’t help you much with the “Fab social”

I’ve left the perfect reason to mention the Manchester Lounge Social though.

There’s a thread here about it:

I’ll skip Hawksmoor because we’ve got one of those up here. Northern Soul sounds PERFECT anyway, and I’d be too full for a steak if I’m eating grilled cheese …

"I’d have loved to have taken you around Birmingham!"

I haven’t had a night out in Brum for a *very* long time. I think the last one was when I was still a student and ended with sleeping with three different girls in three different rooms of a house in Selly Oak.
