Your last day at school

I had the strangest dream and just woke up remembering it. Everything that I did on my last day of school . It was like I was looking down at myself and who I talked to, people I haven't thought about in over 25 years

I'm weirding out lol

Do you remember yours?

Yes. Because I’m a lot younger than you and most of the others on this site. So it was relatively recent.

I don't particularly remember it, but I do remember going back in the August to collect my A-level results. I don't suppose I've seen most of those people since.

We wrote all over each other’s school shirts on the last day. I kept mine for years after, it was a nice way of remembering everyone.

Had my shirt signed in the morning then all went to the pub at lunchtime. I got a bj off a girl I liked in the toilets so that was hot!!

Yep - signed everyone’s shirts, we pretty much partied and on our very last day, my science teacher said to everyone “that’s it, you are done, get out there and make the most of it”.

This was nearly 20 years ago. sadly some of my class mates didn’t make it.

School as in classes etc?

Yeah. we had muck up day and covered the school in straw. Pretty tame by some standards

My last exam? ... vaguely. I staggered home and collapsed. My last exam was the worst one

The headmaster had a go at me and my friend because we'd grown our hair out..which was against the rules.

The place was run by complete assholes and I'd never send my son or daughter there, if I had a son or daughter.

Was only in 2005 but yeah, I remember it. It was the day I was kicked out of home so I spent the morning at school getting my shirt signed and laughing with friends, the afternoon packing and moving into a flat then work in the evening.

A strange day.

And still had change from 2&6 for a matinee and popcorn.

Longer ago for me, but yeah. Hugs man. I still think back regularly to all the classmates no longer with us. So many died young, either at their own hand or in accidents.

I try not to think too much about it, too often.

I don't remember a last day of anything. Nor first days. School, university, jobs... Perhaps my mind blocks out the horror. The only one of any kind that I do remember is retirement, but that was just a few months ago.

I don't really remember any of school tbh, it was the single most tedious time of my life, absolutely grim.

Yes, spent the day doing sod all bar signing shirts and destroying our school ties.

Went home, went to the pub and started work full time the next day whilst all my friends had ages off enjoying themselves.

Not very well, I seem to remember waiting untill everyone had gone home so that I could take home the table that I'd made in work without being seen; no one left was the same size and there wasn't a right angle to be found on it

We signed shirts but my year scratched our initials into a desk and the lid was ripped off

Teacher caught us. Laughed and said get the fuck out and get on with your lives

Finedon ,

The year was 1957, all I can remember is my driving instructor waiting at the gate to take me for my driving test.

Which I passed.

Tied our School ties on the chain link fence in the playground and set them alight then went and played football down the park in 1978.
