I tell my daughters quite often

I can't remember the last time someone said it to me.... Uhmmmmm

Oh ... I get false ' I love you's ' from colleagues but I never count those.

I guess my daughters are the only people who ever say they love me. They do it often enough and it's genuine.

I had this. Can totally relate.

In Spanish we have “te quiero” and “te amo”, this last one is the real, strong stuff - the love that moves mountains and writes poetry.

but it was never used in my family so I am unable to say it. I feel super uncomfortable saying it and I don’t think I ever have.

But I also struggle with “love” being an all-purpose word haha. From saying “I love dark chocolate digestives” to “I love you very much even though I know we will bever be together”.

In a relationship ship way the last time was just over eleven years ago. It was the last thing my husband and I said to each. He passed away four days later.

I told her, she never was able to say it back funnily enough, even though I know she did love me. Not everyone is able to talk about their feelings in such an open manner.
