Starting this today.

Did attempt this for a month last Nov but fell ill towards the end of the month so could complete it.

Can do about 35 press ups in one go at the moment. Aiming for 50 in one go.

Thats a lot, try changing your arm position ie tuck your arms into your hips to get a different muscle group.

Is it really worth overloading on one exercise like that? After a while wouldn't it just become junk volume?

I (Enn) did the 100 press ups a day in November. I used my rotating press up stands for deeper range of motion and different hand positions.

Was hard work and took a bit of discipline, but definitely felt better by the end of it.

Just something I'm trying at home. I do go to the gym to do all the other stuff.

Edinburgh (She/Her)

Hate press ups with a passion.

That and bench press.

Wrists are tiny and the muscle starts half way up the fucking arm.

Wrist strain every time.

I'd love to buy I've got a shoulder injury

I actually genuinely do. I love challenges like this in the hope of getting some 'proper' reps in instead of adapted ones.

Might try in a few months time.

I can't do a proper one, where you go all the way down and then push back up

Not to mention the backward over the shoulder, 'i'm with him, he's payin' .... flex

What's the best way for an old dolly to build arm muscle ?

Press up what a fantastic exercise. Can be done almost anywhere and hits chest, back, tri’s and if you’re sensible and keep your core tight can help posture too.

Do them slowly though if you just blast them out it’s counter productive.

I start from downward dog .... hands forward into high plank down into sphinx, cobra and upward dog ....

Don't tend to just do planks ... sometimes I do bird dog but .... it hurts my knees.

Good luck !

Love press ups, I do quite a lot of them to finish press sessions and on arm days. Been great for rehab work for my elbows

The one minute push up is harder. More beneficial too I'd argue.
