Let Downs cost money

People on Fab fail to realise that no shows cost time and money.

I had a meet arranged last night and informed the couple that I was running 10 mins late due to traffic.

They replied back to say no problem and that they'll be there.

After a 60 mile and 90 min drive I arrived and nobody was around. Ghosted too which made matters worse.

I've been let down countess times in the past as I'm sure many of us have.

Time costs nothing but fuel for a 120 mile round trip does.

I just find it very unprofessional that people deliberately fcuk people over.

No idea why they do it.

It hasn't happened to us, we've been fortunate.

No advice because its horrible when it happens

It happened to me once so now I always arrange the first meet in my local pub.

"It happened to me once so now I always arrange the first meet in my local pub. "

I've been on Fab for about 10 years now and it's never been this bad.

I do travel (70 miles is my limit each way) as I never seem to find or attract anyone local to me.

I wish I had the luxury of meeting someone at my local watering hole but it doesn't happen.

Oh well! Just part of the experience I guess

If you arrange to meet at a club you can still have a good night even if they don't turn up.

Unprofessional?

If you're looking for professional behaviour, I suggest you're on the wrong site. Nothing about this should be professional.

We were let down too last night, just report the profile and move on, it's all you can do really. .

Happy place

Report the profile.

Perhaps avoid profiles that say they are "professional" if that was the case (can't think why you would use that term otherwise). I know I do as experience has taught me it's all about them!

Our first attempted meet did that. Sure it was only a 20 minute drive but I woke up early from a night shift to go to it.

Report and move on.

I've had a few let downs, but normally it's the last minute and I haven't left the house. Very annoying still though.

I have to ask, sorry.

Was this a meet solely arranged on here, just using DM's, or did it involve meeting for a social at some point before or a phone call?

Because one is generally more likely to end in disappointment than the other.....

If this is a one off then I would write it down to experience and move on - it is life and things like this happen unfortunately. If it happens more regularly then I would suggest that you might want to change the way you validate who you are actually meeting.

I’ve had the same: now I will only meet in a local venue for a social - no travelling until I’ve met someone properly. Sorry you had that OP.

Have you seen the price that clubs charge single guys?

I've already been screwed by Rishi Sunaks policies. The last thing I want to do, is go to a club that takes advantage of the vulnerability of single guys with unjustifiable prices.

Thanks but no thanks
